Oilers, 30 percent of the season in the books and on the radio yesterday I heard people saying that they're still making the playoffs. I could support this idea if they had pulled themselves up like the Canadiens have but it's just not happening yet - now 6 points out of a playoff spot with 6 teams to climb over, quite a monumental task for almost any team.

It is a monumental task, and I think they might be done. What I do know is that they are 6-0 against the Shames over the last two seasons.

Oilers looked better, but Calgary goaltending/D looked quite poor last night and we finally had some luck bounces. We were also fortunate to not give up the worst lead in hockey.

It was pretty nerve racking watching the Oil fall apart in the 3rd. LB let in some stinkers but they just barely made it through. They were bending but didn't break.

I have zero confidence in LB, never had. His reactions and ability to 'see' the puck are some of the worst that I have seen.

Welp, the Sens have seemingly forgot how to skate, pass or even play hockey for that matter. Can't believe what I'm seeing. That's not to say the Jets don't deserve credit, though. Winnipeg is playing amazing!

Oilers seems to be the Flames Kryptonite these days, can't believe how shitty that game was. Turned it off at 5-1, should have kept watching apparently though.

lol. Yeah, even before the game started, I was was expecting the Flames to come out badly as they seem to do against the Oilers lately, but they came out even worse than I expected.

The Oilers would easily be a playoff team if they played more games against the Flames. If the Flames had won these first two games against Edm instead of losing them. The records would be

Cgy 16-9
Edm 9 -16

Quite a bit of a different outlook.

I'd almost trade a first round playoff exit for never losing to the Oilers again.

For whatever unknown reason the Oilers are all up in the Flames kitchen making breakfast and having a blast doing it.

No Talbot, no Larsson, no Sekera, no problem.

And to those people who say the silver lining to a 7-5 loss was Sam Bennett's 2 goal breakout game? Give me a break. Neither one of those goals would have gone in had the Oilers started a decent goalie. Kris Russell blows a tire on the 2nd one and Brossoit is cowering under the crossbar hoping the puck doesn't hit him?! Hopefully one of those 'silver lining' people are the GM of another team and this has helped restore some of his trade value.

Ps. Did anyone see the puck go through Gio's skate? I've never ever seen that in my life.

At 9-16 the Oilers would just about be done for the season, and the Flames would look solid for a playoff spot. Good thing we only play the Oilers two more times.

Its funny because no one wants to play in Edmonton. So much young talent is wasted in that city. All the players probably have a picture of Chris Pronger in their locker area, he's a like a hero to them, because he strong armed himself out of that career wasteland

^The best player (arguably) in the league just signed for a decade.
There is that second syllable emphasis again.

Yep. Throwing obscene amounts of money at the kid. Smart move by the coilers I guess. Funny how they mortgaged their whole future to keep mcdavid in the city. But that's the price you pay to get people to play in that 'burg. Hope he likes being in the conference basement for the rest of his career
