Don't see this posted yet. Canadian Architect did a piece on the light (Art) feature on the north and south facades of Telus Sky done by Douglas Coupland. Not sure how to embed this video here, perhaps someone else can? Good article, definitely worth a read.

That last shot is great, 3 cranes and two other office buildings being renovated......wow.

Massey Tower actually looks great in real life. I have been downtown three times this past week and agree with the posters, the tower in real exceeds any pictures I've seen. I still wish they continued the white balconies all around as I love the east, south, and west elevations. The north glass portion is alright, but I like the white. Overall a nice tower, they set it back so from the street you don't really notice it as much.

No kidding. I just got back from Calgary and it was crazy driving into the city at night to see how many floors of Brookfield were vacant. One of the guys I was working with out there said they did a deal where they got a $100/square foot improvement allowance for signing a 10 year lease. The average for a class A building in Downtown Toronto would be ~$30 in comparison. Insane.

I don't think there even are any tenants in it yet. Cenovus signed a lease for about 70% of the building but has no need for it now due to all the lost personnel. At least Telus Sky won't be vacant. It has Telus as the anchor tenant still and all the residential above that.

That will be awesome! I just hope being a public art component that they will maintain the lights better and have less issues than I have seen on countless other projects with LED's in this city.

There appear to be about 5 floors in the middle of the tower occupied, but the rest is empty.

Yeah it's going to be something else. I've seen the LEDs on, but no cascading colours or anything like that. Still looked very impressive!

Massey Tower - 208 meters



Walked by the One Bloor West (306 meters) looks like they were bringing in more shoring equipment, incredible, because the site is so tight.

LED public art components have often been a disaster in Toronto as well. The tech is always improving. This great installation should be fine.

I dunno what it is, Massey tower doesn't really look too great in any of the pics I see. But in person it's much better.
