Why is Dallas in the NFC East? Isn't that pretty laughable?
That would be, dare I say, Mickey Mouse Or when people say that the CFL without Canada's biggest market would be a joke and yet the NFL didn't have a team in its second biggest market Los Angeles. Would that be Mickey Mouse?
Either way, I don't get all these weird hangups people have. I've heard other people complain about the fact that one guy owns two teams in the league. Who cares? It's weird to me how much attention people pay to behind-the-scenes stuff like that in determining the worth of a sports league. Can't people just watch the game?
Amen, and they tend to forget, the little embarrassing problems the league they support has, like umm, the time a stadium ran out of seats at the Super Bowl and the power went out.

I simply think the crossover is silly and with another team in the east I don't see a need for it after that. As it stands right now the league is a little out of balance.

I just don't see how a 5th team in the East will help the issue though? It's not a matter of imbalanced divisions, the crossover was a thing in the 8 team CFL too. It's just a matter of one division often being stronger than the other for whatever reason. I don't see why that possibility would be eliminated in a 10 team CFL.
The odds should go up the East will produce better teams. Anyways so why have a division/league/conference at all? The point of them is to find the best team from each side then have them play each other for a championship. If you crossover the whole point of it is gone.

The single division thing comes up all the time, most recently by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers who were peeved that they were rewarded for their 2nd place finish by playing Edmonton, rather than Ottawa as the worse-record Roughriders did. I think the current system is just meant to be a compromise between giving both divisions representation, while being fair to teams who get screwed by division imbalances. I guess people could disagree with this from both sides, but at least the logic seems clear.

Its that or a 3rd place team with a 6-12 record makes the playoffs.

I am a traditionalist as far as keeping the Grey Cup date in late November, maintaining geographic divisions for playoff seeding (and I too see the crossover as a compromise... some day, perhaps, it could benefit an East Division team)... but what's your logic behind this statement?
Competitive/winning teams in the East is the issue, not how many of them there are overall.
Better chance of a good team emerging if there's 5 of them rather than 4.
PS whats with the snow in Ottawa? Geez.
But this isn't about a random statistical outcome. It's about well-managed teams with good coaching and talented rosters. The East has been far more erratic than the West in those respects over the past few decades. If that changes, then we'll see fewer West to East crossovers.

Crappy weather Grey Cups are fun to watch if you don't care who wins. Weather like this dummies down the talent, and makes it more of a game of lucky breaks.
Looks like the snow is much worse than expected now. The fighter jet is circling over my neighbourhood so it can be over the stadium right before the game starts. (I suppose? I live near the airport but I’ve never seen or heard one in the area before)
I gave some thought into supporting Ambrosie's proposal to move the Grey Cup up until I saw the conditions at the game today. There's something about the possibility of playing the Grey Cup in winter that's just so Canadian. It wouldn't be the CFL without games like this. Hopefully they can make a classic out of it.
Love the snow, but as mentioned, it really puts it to luck.
