Vancouver is overperforming. Winnipeg's been playing very well.

Edmonton is done. I made the call last night. The math doesn't work, as Cold showed, and they are deflated. Talbot has been atrocious at times, and mediocre on balance.

Oilers are finished now. Out by this much at Thanksgiving and your chances of making playoffs are pretty near zero. Guess I don't need to worry about watching hockey any more this season. So frustrating. Once January rolls around the all the bowl games are over there won't be much worth watching.

Winnipeg has been playing well, but there are some glaring weaknesses (penalty kill and possession) that are currently being masked by great (likely unsustainable) goal tending.

Its a good ride right now, but some improvements will need to be made to keep it sustainable.

If the Oilers get the 1st pick, I'm going to launch a nuclear strike on the city of Edmonton.

Not so sure the Canucks are over achieving. The Horvat/Boeser line is decent. At least middle of the pack as far as 1st lines go. We are at the quarter pole and the Canucks are still hanging in there.

Even the first pick isn't a solution for the Oilers, they cannot afford another contract of this magnitude.

Backed up by some solid goaltending too. I still thought they'd be worse, but I can't say I'm totally shocked at how they're doing.

I figured Edmonton would be a playoff bubble team, not a competitor for the #1 pick. To be honest though, it's still early to be hitting the panic button, they are 7 points out of a playoff spot, 4 wins in a row and they are right back in the conversation. Calgary was in a similar position last year, and we went on a crazy winning streak and made the playoffs. If Edmonton is still a bottom dweller in a month, then hit the panic button.

Markstrom has really impressed me, but Boeser is the story IMO, kid might be the rookie of the year!

For the second night in a row:

The Canucks win 5-2
Win on the road in Pennsylvania
Boeser scores two goals.

Canucks now 8-3 on the road.

Definitely, I just wanted to give the goalies their due too. Without how good both of them have played, what the Boeser-Baertschi-Horvat line have been doing would be for nothing.

But absolutely, Boeser is out of control. Pay this guy whatever he wants moving forward. He's our McDavid/Matthews. The whole team can be built around him moving forward.

They have to. It’s like Elliott all over again. If the team can’t trust him then they’ll lose confidence and lose games.

You're right, we lost to the panthers who are in 28th place in overtime, also we lost to the Coyotes 31st and last place in the league 4-1, but we also beat another bottom feeder last weekend the 27th placed Habs 6-0. Even after 2 losses we are still 5th place overall.
