^Nice find.

Also, this is noteworthy. And, there was a UPENN commercial airing on NBC showing a current skyline (using CTC with the cooling tower structure as reference) that talks about this cancer discovery. Don't know if that was a regional commercial or not. But, it would be nice to showcase it nationally or at least during prime time programming.

See link below:

I was just talking with a coworker about those commercials (they've got a radio blitz too). I would bet a lot they are regional. Now it's an awesome discovery that will hopefully do a lot of good. That said, those commercials are TERRIBLE. They just say "first of it's kind cancer breakthrough" a thousand times with no explanation of what that is. If I didn't see articles like the one kingtut posted, I'd have no idea what they're talking about.

I've seen those commercials. The production values are through the roof.

Also ... think like a marketer here. The goal of the ad is to pique interest, not explain the discovery.

I am a marketer, production value is great. Writing is very poor, the phrasing is awkward like they read it on the creative brief and plugged it into the script without trying to make it sound like something a human would say.

I guess they figured the average dopey person watching or listening would not be able to understand immunotherapy (CAR-T cell therapy) in a 30 second ad (or whatever the length). But this pioneering work, led by Dr. Carl June ... truly is changing the way researchers and oncologist think of cancer treatment. So at least, yes, for some people there is hope where there would not have been only a few years ago.

Confident Philadelphia Officials Preemptively Raze Center City to Make Room for Amazon Headquarters

Just clearing some extra space...

https://www.theonion.com/confident-philadelphia-officials-preemptively-raze-cent-1820509855

My favorite quote:

“We’re willing to do whatever it takes to ensure Amazon chooses Philadelphia, whether that requires tax incentives, infrastructure upgrades, or filling the Schuylkill River with concrete to create more parking,” he continued. “I’m sure it’s just a matter of time until it’s all official.”

Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DmRPO4BMgk

"The FDA has just approved the first-of-it's-kind historic cancer breakthrough."
The FDA approves food, drugs and medical devices. A breakthrough is a dramatic/important discovery.

^ Just wow. Very evocative of The Bridge. However, their German 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵. There's no umlaut over the u in Haus.

Wow, very ambitious project!! But as mentioned by Knights, could really do without the kitsch of the silly, misplaced umlaut.

This is awesome! But is it legitimate? I'm always very weary of "proposals" that are only found on the website of architecture firms, like this one. Who owns the site? Who's the developer? For all we know, a developer engaged with the firm to get a really cool design and will then flip the land, permits, and design for a profit.

I really hope this is legitimate or I might have to wring Summer's neck for getting me all excited about this If there was a prototype of good design for the Delaware Riverfront, THIS is it. Engaging, awesome design, pedestrian friendly, this is an A+ project. I just hope it's real.

Perhaps an intern project or self-advertising.

Core hasn't actually executed any new construction projects, though, and they're currently flipping the approvals for their Delaware & Shackamaxon property, you know, the one with the climbing gym lease.

I fear Samschick's vision exceeds his financial ability.
