I have to agree with vid. Many of the transport truck drivers definitely are immigrants from India. And you will see them driving on Hwy 11 in Northeastern Ontario. I noticed it at places such as the Flying J in Kapuskasing when I would stop there. I agree that many of them have the worst driving jobs when it comes to hours and expectations. You just know that laws aren't being followed and that many are being pressured to break those laws by their employers.

Awesome place eh ? It's super clean, beautiful and the people there have a certain ''Proud'' for their homeland. In other words, it's not a Poor-Isolated place in my opinion.
Me and my friend talked about visiting Entry Island when we were there, but we stated that it was not worth it and there was enough to do on the main part of the Archipelago...but 1 year after, I think we should have made it.

The guy who died on the 400 was from North Bay, ON. He was not an immigrant.


The problem in the trucking industry is the fact that they are being paid less and less all the time.

In fact, most fields are that way;the workers want to make more than the company wants to pay them.

This will be a busy road next summer. Was planning a trip up but will wait a few years. ( Doing a southern and eastern trip instead). But should make a huge difference in Tuk.

Impressive drone video of the upcoming expansion of the Team Gushue Highway, the part that goes over Kenmount (an elevation at which development was prohibited until recebtly) and links suburban St. Johns to Mount Pearl.

This redesign of the Highway 11/15 interchange at Shediac (just north of Moncton) is nearly complete and should be open by the end of the month.



The new roadway is shown in yellow. This will be a tremendous improvement over the previous alignment.

The only peculiar thing will be that traffic on 15 westbound heading north to 11, and traffic on 11 southbound heading to 15 eastbound will have to exit the highway and pass through a rotary before getting back on the highway.

Most traffic flow however is not in this direction, with the principle flow being to and from Moncton, so this shouldn't be too much of a hardship.

France to Canada is an hour!

The new passenger & vehicles ferries have arrived and will enter service next spring between Saint-Pierre & Miquelon and Fortune, Newfoundland.

Previously they used a passenger only ‘fast ferry’ and cars were barged across. I live along the TCH in Nova Scotia and have seen cars with SPM plates passing thru occasionally….but they might become a bit more common now. (look at some of these European models with their SPM plates on the wharf at Fortune NL)

Saint-Pierre & Miquelon is a Territory "Collectivité" of France located about 20 miles off the south coast of Newfoundland. The islands might be in North America but the local currency in the Euro and the food and wine.....excellent!

Not a 2CV in sight It does seem strange to see a huge Nissan Titan pickup truck with french licence plates.

The only French licence plate I've seen this year so far was from Haute Savoie. Not sure how they got it here, but that's what the number code corresponded to.
