Nuburger is local. Stradbrook was the first location.

Had the 1/3 lb Rockabilly burger at Johnny G's on the weekend. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it and the thin fries even more.

I've never been to Johnny G's remotely sober... don't know if I could bring myself to doing it. Once I went to Little Pizza Heaven sober.. huge mistake.

Cool. I wonder where they will set up. Off hand, I can't think of many appropriate (size wise) and available buildings in the area for this sort of thing.

NuBurger is definitely Winnipeg based but I think they have aspirations to grow into a chain that expands beyond the city like Burrito Splendio and Za Pizza. Sort of interesting we are in a period where people are starting restaurants locally that they are hoping to grow into bigger chains. Burrito Splendio stands out for me as the first location on its opening weekend felt like it was some new chain opening in Winnipeg for the first time but it was actually their first location ever.

NuBurger and Unburger (Winnipeg) are the exact same place. After opening they found out the "Unburger" name was previously claimed by someone else and needed to change their name.

The name was changed because there was a preception it served vegitarian burgers only. It was a marketing ploy not a rights claim.

There's a really cool A&W across the street, opened in '16. I like the arrangement of chairs and ... they have some bar stools, just for something different.

My housemate likes Dari-Whip burgers.

oh YES they are still there and hands down the best greasy chain burger you can get. fries and chilli are great too. must eat in car or outside on picnic table. don't take it home, i live 5 minutes away and it gets to soggy.

Thats what I thought. Also heard the name change happened after several health violations...

It doesnt look like anything great but the burger was delicious. Something they use in their meat. My buddy asked the server what the secret was...and she starts explaining how they make their burgers including "and they add something , I dont know what, and mix it all together and its great".
