Yup, think back to the 2015 Eastern Final. Lots of drama in that game as well.

Better now than 3 or 4 weeks from now Cold.

I agree - Hamilton vs Ottawa has provided very entertaining games over the last few years. Pure CFL - love it.

the CFL although a time honoured tradition is a mickey mouse league. i can't take a league seriously with only 9 teams... at least get it up to 12 teams.. why on earth is there no team in Halifax???? That would at least get us to 10... and yes.. ALL the teams should be Canadian. American expansion, never again.

Very much like the 6 team NHL era is considered Mickey Mouse and not taken seriously by hockey enthusiasts!

Sad Toronto poster who does not want to admit that we live in a small country.

Most other smaller countries have multiple teams in their largest cities, but we can barely support one in ours. When one's mindset is stuck in the American model, this is what the league ends up being... And it's difficult for smaller cities to come up with the infrastructure and support to try to keep up and allow expansion.

I'm still having nightmares about Saturday's Bombers/Lions game. Harris must have lost 10 IQ points on that play where he got absolutely smushed.

With all the late season injuries, I hate to say it but I wouldn't bet a dime on the Bombers to win the cup even if you gave me 100:1 odds.

Sometimes it feels like this team is cursed

Final weekend setting up to be worth a watch!

IF the Stamps beat the Bombers and Esks beat the Riders after the season the Esks have had, we may end up hosting a playoff game after all. I never thought that would happen but we're getting hot at the right time!

And if the Argos win, they get that first round bye!

Gotta love the CFL! I know I do

So, if you see it as a Mickey Mouse league, tell me where you would place the 3 other teams in Canada.

Canadians especially Torontonians are just so enamoured by all the hype (not necessarily substance) surrounding American sports. In the long run, it is a self-fulfilling prophesy. I already puke with all the Toronto sports that is shoved down our throats by Bell and Rogers. I just turn it off.

I will swear on a Bible this is true. Last week I was channel surfing and I tuned in some NFL games to see what I am supposedly missing. I figured I'd watch until some points were scored and then move on.

First game, field goal attempt resulted in a blocked kick, turned the channel and a few minutes later another field goal attempt, same result, blocked kick. A few days later, I think, I tune in willing to wait to see some points scored and again missed field goal, blocked kick. My total viewing time, ten minutes? If anyone thinks I am making this up feel free to go back and look.

In the NFL that is a titanic defense rising to the occasion, in the CFL that is a — field goal kicker.

Also surprised to see in one game an almost foot wide hole in the turf about four inches deep, kind of like what we used to make as kids when playing marbles, but there's nothing Mickey Mouse about that.

Nothing wrong with the CFL that a little coverage shakeup at TSN couldn't cure. Put cameras in the goalposts, more use of the skycam, don't shoot as loose, get much tighter shots and start to use more in game graphics (keyed on the field). Obviously, people perceive a good looking product to be better.

LOL. American Sports? Ya you are so correct. It has nothing to do with the fact the CFL is a tiny league of 9 teams. As for shoving sports down our throats the CFL has been doing that in Toronto to no avail for years. And FYI Toronto has always been interest in the MLB, NBA, and NHL. All have deep roots within the Canadian sporting world.

Baseball is just a North American adaptation of the British sports rounders and cricket. Montreal was first to have an international team back in 1928. Oh and boohoo they show the Jays nation wide. Consider for a moment that there is currently one MLB-affiliated minor league team, the Vancouver Canadians of the Class A Northwest League, an affiliate of the Blue Jays. Go figure people outside of Toronto might want to watch the Jays.

Basketball because I know you are going to call that another "American Sport" was created by a Canadian. The very first NBA game was held at Maple Leaf Gardens. Back when the pro team Toronto had were the Huskies.

I'm so sorry you only like CFL and it's the only Canadian sport in your mind. Everything else is an American sport to you, even Hockey I suppose? I mean only 7 teams are from Canada, the league is primarily in the U.S.

^ If what you claim is true, then I take great pleasure in knowing that the CFL is singlehandedly depriving Toronto of a NFL team. Eat it, Toronto!

While the above paragraph is true, it is really stretching it to say there was any wide mainstream interest in basketball after the one and only season of the Huskies until the Raps came along. Commissioner Stern has even stated the league didn't want/need a team in Toronto but the owners got greedy for an expansion fee.

Look at what I started! Ooops! Didn't mean to do that.

Hope this last weekend of games is as good as I'm thinking it will be. This could be a very interesting East, West and crossover battle shaping up.
