Construction is maxed out

This is the affect of the low immigration to the state that comrade keeps chirping about. People need to relocate here with job skills that fill the void. Can’t wait for the kids to fill it. Also, this is a result of everyone and their cat getting college degrees instead of trade jobs.

You wouldn't believe what a industrious tradesman is making right now with basic handyman skills! It's really unreal right now. Once the airport construction wraps up that should free up some key labor forces for commercial work. Our geographic isolation can make it difficult to man projects

On another note. Do anyone of you architects or engineers know how plans are put together for state projects like maintenance buildings for example or new fire stations? Who decides what building materials are selected for these State projects. I've always wanted to approach these guys or gals and educate them about other options and save the state millions with their buildings.

I am not sure the tradesman/ blue collar labor is really a unique Utah problem. This happens in all areas that get hot. Also, with the economy being strong across the country there isn't labor slack that we can draw from elsewhere. Our problem is more about drawing "creative"/ tech talent. An anecdotal example of this is a YouTube personality, Casey Neistat, recently was in Denver and mentioned how much he loved it and could see himself living there. He lives in NYC and constantly raves about that city, so that is a big compliment to Denver. While I love SLC and the greater Utah area (very underrated place to live), it is hard to imagine that comment being said about here.

Without a doubt, this is a huge improvement over what Regent St. had become. Keeping my fingers crossed on what Orlando recently reported. Now we just need to get that Regent Hotel in operation. That would be the next needed game changer to turn Regent St. around into a majorly vibrant venue. I think just getting that Hotel under construction would be a huge shot in the arm for filling the commercial spaces on the east side. Though I imagine that even without the Hotel in play for a while, the spaces will fill up eventually. Again Eco, fantastic pics!!
