Oh god please just stop. Yes, you are turning this into City vs City and you are doing it with bad data analysis.

To say that Chicago is hemorrhaging population is ridiculous. The population change has been up and down over the past decade, but the city has gained population in the estimates since the 2010 census, but that isn't the same as hemorrhaging population. Comparing two data points doesn't give you a trend, much less one with such an over the top connotation as "hemorrhaging"

Also, I hate to break it to you, but Philadelphia had a higher violent crime rate last year than Chicago. There was a pretty drastic spike in the murder rate in Chicago, but prior to that Philly and Chi had pretty comparable murder rates. Both cities have improved drastically in terms of violent crime and both are way down from the recent peak two or three decades ago.

I love Philly, but trying to boost our city by putting another down is just plain wrong. Especially a city like Chicago that we have so much in common with. If anything we should be supporting each other on here, not getting in 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 contests over who's lost the greatest percentage of their population since the 60's.

EDIT: For the record, I'm not trying to push this further into city v city. I'd love for Amazon to choose Philly and think we've got a great shot at it. But let's please not piss on other legitimate bids out of spite. We're better than that.

I'm becoming more hopeful that Philly may get Amazon HQ2. The local resistance is getting really exercised over the proposition of Amazon coming to Philly.

......... No , maybe it is I who should apologize for posting the J. Koziarz article about Chicago having " TEN " different locations
to offer Amazon , in the first place . I was damn near shocked to read they had that many options to offer .

I'm trying not to get too pumped up about Philly's chances because there is just too much stuff we are not previewed to . Although
I have no idea what the outcome will be , my advice is be careful what you wish for .... all that glitters is not gold .

....... For what it's worth , here is my thoughts on where city bidding concludes .
....... #1 DC .
....... #2 Toronto .
....... #3 Queens / Staten Island .
....... #4 Every other city in North America .

....... The light in my crystal ball just burned out ......

Does anyone know of a site where all the major players in the Great Amazon Give Away of 2018 have their proposals posted? I'd like to see what other cities are offering.

I really, really hope we land Amazon. BUT if not, I sincerely hope this experienced has opened the eyes of our leaders on how to attract business to the city.

Also, I know City Council had discussed passing some sort of tax break for mega companies. Was it actually passed prior to the proposal submission? I don't recall seeing any indication it was but I hope to be wrong. If they weren't able to pull off the vote by the time the proposal was completed, what kind of message is that?
