The jagged edges that are bare concrete in the pics are shown as coloured on the renderings.
I wonder if they'll clad or paint them?
I was thinking it's lighter in appearance than expected, but if they colour those edges, it'll be much darker.

Big bulky cantilevered mass over the sidewalk.
I didn't realize it would have different materials and patterns (not all the same brick or pattern) - they call it a "collage".
... it's verging on Henriquez jumbl-ism - there's so many things going on in the design.

I don't think this project gets enough credit. Unique, well-executed details and design concepts on every single part of this project - from the podium to the penthouse levels and rooftop.

Agreed. I maybe would have simplified the multitude of patterns in the brick podium but in comparison to the basic painted concrete and spandrel glass that is usually done on many downtown projects, I will take the crazy brick patterns any day.

I didn't think this podium could have gotten any more imposing and poorly thought out - until I saw these brick photos.

I'm not keen on the brick.

Maybe if there was some symmetry in the pattern placement
- but as it is, sure, it looks haphazard - like a quilt or a collage
- but it also looks like they used scraps of material (which is the very nature of a quilt or collage).

Probably in anticipation of redevelopment?

Both Buy-Low and Nestor's are part of the Buy-Low Division of Jim Pattison
- although they do occupy slightly different segments of the market.

I disagree, the building cladding is unique and looks great. Im looking fwd to my little one bedroom unit, with the brick effects!

I think the tower turned out pretty decent, but the brick pattern I'm not as much of a fan of.

The hoarding along Broadway has come down now and you can get a sense of what the new sidewalk proportions will be like.
