Nothing like a game against the Leafs to get Montreal's offense out of the shitter.

The only time I'm truly relaxed is when Matthews is on the ice.

Only 3 games in and already Vancouver lost its number 1 defenceman for at least a month and a half. Last year the Canucks were by far the most injured team in the league at over 450 man games lost.

So now Vancouver has sell-out issues? Not as bad as Ottawa I'm sure, but still surprising despite the fact that they haven't been preforming well over the past few years.

Another awesome Leaf game last night. Sorry Montreal but at least you got a point .

Meh they didn't play great except for Auston Matthews. Good thing Carey Price was awful.

Whatever makes you feel better. Even our weakest performance was too much for the Habs to handle. Get used to it this year and years to come.

The kind of talk that makes Leaf fans look like idiots when the luck runs out.

They're not playing like a playoff team right now and are being carried by the first line. Matthews, Nylander and Hyman are carrying an expected goal differential of 3.07 after the first 5 games. That's absolutely insane. The next best is Mcdavid's line at 1.84. When that comes back down to earth, Marner, Bozak and JVR better step up because that line is a black hole right now.

Hmmm yes but the Leafs have pretty good depth so things should balance out fine. Kadri line played decent last night, JVR-Bozak-Marner line has been truly terrible and can only really improve.

There is something to be said about a team that can win while not playing their best. Habs had their best game of the season, Leafs had their worst but the Leafs still won.

People said the same thing when we would start the season 7-3 under Wilson or Carlyle while getting outshot by 20 every game. Now I would never compare this team to those, stylistically they are so different and we actually play a very strong possession game now. That being said, there are glaring holes that cannot be ignored if the team wants to take the next step.

The biggest difference from 5 years ago is that I actually trust Shanahan and co. to make the required moves to close those gaps.

What about your own cup-less streak? It's at a quarter century after this season.

There are university graduates out there who've landed jobs, bought homes, and started families that weren't alive for the Habs last cup.

Welcome to the club!

You're right, but I mean, you can't really compare '67 with '93

I make a point of avoiding that site at all costs, good interface or not.
