I am unclear if this is something permanent, or a pop-up store (although I suspect the latter). The key word there is "seasonal". Does this mean that it's only there for the Christmas season, or does this mean that the store's offerings will vary season by season. I'm not sure.

There is one other location that I can find - at East Point in Saint John. https://www.facebook.com/EastPointShoppi...0000.1475076896./895800813857101/?type=3

If this is a permanent store, this would mean that Wheeler Park has succeeded in the rare accomplishment of full occupancy............
Yes, This Will Be A Permanent (Open Year-Round) Store.
And They Sell Home Decor, Party Stuff, Gifts, Etc. As Well As Seasonal Items.

Also, The One In Saint John Is The First & Only Other Location.
Moncton Will Be Their 2nd Location!!!

I Absolutely Love This Store & I'm Excited That Their Expanding!!!
They First Opened Here In Saint John (At Eastpoint Shopping Centre) Last Year & Was Originally A Seasonal Store And Then They Decided To Be Open Year-Round.
And They Recently (A Few Weeks Ago) Relocated Into A Bigger & Better Location In The Same Shopping Center. I'm So Happy & Proud To See This Saint John Business Expand Outside Of The City. And I Can't Wait For You Guys To Experience This Amazing Store!!!

Check Them Out Here:https://www.facebook.com/celebratediscou...-JgRM2GIqWs-tVj9A0XHpQ4gavGkmpdc&fref=nf

It was exciting to hear that a Sobeys Extra was coming to the Sobeys Vaughan Harvey location. Why is this back on the back burner again?

Barnaby's Furniture on Mountain Road is closing. This will be a big loss to the local furniture market. They said in their announcement that they were retiring. I presume this means they couldn't find a buyer. I wonder if this is because of increasing local competition (Ashley, Structube, even IKEA)?

I don't know what this means for Canadel (same company), or perhaps the kitchen & bath store at Hasting Ridge. I'll try to find out.

Canadel and the Bath & Kitchen store at Hasting Ridge are both safe. They are remaining open.

The Barnabys are a stand-up couple, real great people to deal with. I wish them the very best.
Growing up, as a kid I lived near Joel's grampy's grocery store where Fabricville is now. He ran a tab for my mom and dad who would pay him on pay day, or maybe the pay day after that, never a problem.
It is clear the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Good people.

Well said - excellent people.

Also:

Construction drywall has now gone up in the old Urban Kids location at CF Champlain. Could this be where Hot Topic is going to go???

That's what my thoughts are. The leasing plan still lists it as vacant. The other possiblity would be a permanent locstion for West 49, even though I think where they are now suits them well, they have only been signing temporary leases similar to Ecko, Home Essence, RUA Sports Fanstics and the recently vacated Urban Kids.

Listing for a store manager for My Home Apparel, apparently opening in Moncton in November. No indication as to where it is going.

https://www.careerbeacon.com/en/posting/692858/my-home-apparel/store-manager/moncton

website: https://www.myhomeapparel.com

EDIT - according to their FB page, they're going to be opening their store in downtown Moncton. I guess their main store is based in Truro NS.

I think this will be a good addition to downtown and hopefully the beginning of more and more shops to come.

1) - Celebrate at Wheeler Park opens today.

2) - Lululemon at CF Champlain will definitely be just a seasonal store (I contacted the company on FB).

I'm pretty sure My Home Apparel will be opening in the vacant storefront on Main Street next to Stile. There appears to be work going on in this unit.

The retail renaissance on Main Street continues.........

This makes me happy to see Main street units filling up hopefully the stores filling the vacant units will be long term tenants but I guess it all depends on how many customers they will be able to get in.

I still remember when we had a few larger stores (The Met) on Main Street. I also remember another store being where the Lotto Building is located but can never seen to remember what it was I remember Eaton's store moving from where Service Canada is (I do believe) to Highfield square.

Woolco (and probably Woolworth before that) used to be located in the ALC Building. I remember as a child visiting the store on one of my trips over to Moncton from PEI. I think the Woolco was the first place I ever travelled on an escalator. It made an impression.

Yes, the Eaton's store used to be on the ground level of the catalogue warehouse building. I don't remember the store (as I don't recall the pre-Highfield Square era), but that's where it was located.......

Yes Woolworth's preceded Woolco in what is now the lottery building.
There was a Zeller's next door.
Certainly the Eaton's was located on the ground floor of Heritage Court but I seem to recall there was a second level of retail in that building, either the second floor or the basement. I'm not at all certain of this as I was just a kid. They had vaccuum tubes to send messages and money through the building. I never saw anything like it back then, nor since then. If a cashier needed change, she would put some bills in a little cannister, open the little door on the little tube, and the vaccum would suck the money upstairs in a flash. In a minute or two a cannister of change would come zoominig back down to her. Amazing! (This would be the late 1960s.)
It was tradition on Saturdays to go downtown and do your shopping. Main Street bustled from early morning into the evening. At night the two theatres, the Capitol and the Paramount, competed for clients. Later the Paramount added a second screen. Two screens in one theatre! Whatever would they think of next lol!
There were also two jewellery stores near the corner of LUtz and Main, Clogg's and G. B. Murphy's, at least two hardware stores, a grocer on St. George Street.... It was where the action was, for sure.
We'd get on the bus (5 cents) and ride into town and spend the day as kids.
Okay now I sound like Grandpa Simpson on The Simpsons tv show! ("So then I tied an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time.....")

It was the main, and Basement (Bargain Basement) It was there Offices above. as it was known, and I knew Woolworth was there, but it's because I knew something else was there I could not remember for the life of me Zellers was there until they moved to the other end of Main.

I do remember the Grocery store Partly, and I also remember there was a Salvation Army Thrift Store, and offices somewhere in that area, and several restaurants also Including Palace Grill for the longest time. I miss that place.

I believe the Metropolitan and Creaghans department stores were downtown as well. Oh, and Miltons diner across from Eatons.

Sears is finally pulling the plug. Regent Mall and Champlain Place will have some prime space to offer other retailers.

Not a surprise. An unfortunate end for a once proud retailer.

Now we all get to see if HBC has really been waiting in the wings for the CF Champlain store or not. I could see HBC going into the Regent Mall too, but overall I would give Champlain's chances of getting HBC at 50/50 and Regent's at about 25%.........
