Explain how aA continually produces solid designs while all the copy cats fail so miserably. aA is known around these part for their bland, simple, repetitive design. How come lesser firms continually can't pull it off? The same with developers. Why are some widely accepted as building better designs (Battistella) than others ( La Caille) for the same market range? The only viable explanation is varying degrees of taste. Of course, taste does have a subjective element to it. There's also both good and bad so it's not entire subjective as some people suggest it to be.

I do have experience in the industry growing up in one of Europe's top firms and being in most aspects of real estate ever since. I'm fully verse through first hand experience I can't build what I like. I have to built what I can sell. Sometimes it makes me want to cry.

Note: Calgarians are the most accepting and the least critical people I've ever met in all my years.I didn't expect to make friends in the Calgary forum over the years through posting opinions that contradict the group think there.
It’s funny you meant the bold part as an insult but it sounds like a compliment.

The guy obviously doesn't think about what he's typing before he writes it. But make sure to be more critical O-tac, your complacency is ruining architecture! lol

Of course not. We're just commoners with bad taste. We should all be such opinionated experts as you.

Seriously, get over yourself man! you aren't changing minds, you aren't improving design, the public realm will be the same regardless of how you look at it. I don't criticize everything. There's just a lot of crap. I given my opinions. It's you guys that get offended and get personal by them. That's when the fun starts.

LOL. I don't need SSP to be heard. I'm not deluded either. There's no way my contrary opinion could be heard. I'm just not going to conform to popular opinion here to make friends. Don't fool yourself either these forums can't be outlets to developers. Developers are marketeers. I know. I'm one. People's opinions are extremely important when it comes to delivering that success project you speak of.

You're right. This is pointless to continue. You're just another fanboy.

Oh for crying out loud. I'm not trolling . It was a goddamn neutral statement. How many times have I written that Calgary's positive outlook is a breath of fresh air? Of course, that doesn't register. That doesn't mean there isn't a danger of becoming too wrapped up in rheteric and become complacent. This is how you can describe what happen to Toronto the Good afterall. Now it has some of the longest commute times and shappy but not chic public spaces. Why does SSP have such a hard time that someone living in another city can't also be committed to another without having an outlook like Chad?

The humanity. The arrogance. I do expect more from people that spend a lot of their day on this forum. I'm still respectful of their opinions until they take a pot shot at mine. Same here. I didn't start this. Calgarian felt compelled to enter a conservation and give his two cents. Why he care to? I don't know.

Apparently that's all you are . memes.

I wonder. Did you bother to read the conversation before running to the aid of you're fellow Calgarian? He took the first personal shot. I took the second shot at him. He continued firing. I stopped.

^ I am deaf, so that makes me an expert in lip reading, better than anyone else on the forum. So in my opinion, Sylvester Stallone is actually saying "I am a toy!"

Given architecture's subjective nature, no opinion on it will ever be a hundred percent right or wrong. Can everyone agree to that and move on?

Man this forum has some of the most sensitive posters I've ever seen, from all over the country. You can't dare do anything but heap praise on every project without being personally attacked, labelled a troll or having it turned into a city vs. city debate. So WhipperSnapper has a different set of architectural and urban realm standards. He's entitled to his opinion without being repeatedly piled on. The fanboy culture here is out of control.

I agree. It really is the perfect avatar for my buddy, O-tacular; the creator of the ugly thread, clockzilla and, puking celebrites. That's some pretty strong and, dare I say, negative opinions there. Fans of Nickelback probably wouldn't be too impressed. I wouldn't know as that's a relationship ender.

While I will take credit for Clockzilla it was MolsonExport who made the original UglyCanada thread and who hates Nickelback more than life itself. I made a second thread when the first was lost but then it was found and they merged. As for puking celebrities I didn’t know puppets from Team America World Police had reached that status.

Hmm, your math is definitely "alternative", I counted a few more than 30 posts in the year, and 28 of them having nothing to do with you

In any case dude, I'm not going to stop calling you out when you bully other forumers here. Like I said before, you have some knowledge, sure, but you also troll the living heck out of a ton of the posts here and it can be hard to have a discussion when you flip out at anyone who doesn't share your view.

Big difference between being a dick and offering an alternative opinion.

Hard not to be a dick when you're being constantly personally attacked and insulted for offering your opinion.
