These people were always there, and in massive numbers, you just never really saw them so long as you stayed in the West and North.
Half-joking aside, it's kind of depressing that Second Cup can't compete against a juggernaut like Starbucks. It's tough to find places that sell premium products without acting completely pretentious about it. Curiously, there are still two in Guelph- a place which always struck me as even more "bifurcated" than London.

Consider yourself lucky, when I was in university residence it would go on until 3am or 4am sometimes. Really sucked when you had a calculus exam the next day. And my friends wondered why I moved to a quiet apartment in hell's half acre (aka Adelaide Street) for second year.
