Is the Douglas a restaurant?

What is supposed to be open tomorrow, one craps table?

The view isn't too shabby.

Woah, that's cool!! Looks great in the day, but amazing at night!

The bear and its cub were out getting some fresh air today.

The chromed bear is one pretty piece of public art. Excited for the opening of this facility in Vancouver. Combined with all the concerts happening Friday evening, let's see how traffic conditions will be like, and whether tearing down the viaducts can be justified.

I'm also wondering what shops will open up across the road from Parc Vancouver at the One Pacific condo building CRUs. They should complement the Casino, hotels and restaurants nicely. Some lux retail shops would be very fitting too.

Yeah, Autograph Collection - part of the Starwood / Marriott chain.

The bear looks good - sorta panda-ish proportions to the head and face.
I can just see the crowds taking selfies in the middle of the traffic circle.

*********

Bizarre - I would have thought that the doors on the concourse would have been a principal entrance to the casino - unless they are temporarily covered over?

The wall above with the venting is really unfortunate - it should be livened up to draw people into the casino (assuming an entrance there).

Exposed studs looks odd in the first shot below.

Missed opportunity to have planters down the middle in the 2nd shot - or a sculpture?

That exposed stud/drywall shot looks terrible. Is that only in a certain light you can see it?

Looks like it could be an employee/emergency exit only. It's not a long walk to get around to the front from there anyway.

A bit unfortunate as it leads directly to the casino floor and would also provide a "shortcut" through the building to Pacific Blvd.

It's labelled "Entrance from Concourse" on the DPB Report plans:

Seems like the same shots are at each of the news stories.
