Wonder if they could ever convince Ralph Kreuger to take that job.

I don't doubt that there is bias in media. In Edmonton during the arena debate, some of the reporters for the local media were key cheerleaders of the project and were so biased in favor of the model presented that they resorted to personal attacks and smear campaigns against anyone who opposed the deal. Desperation does funny things to people.

But what my sis told me was not a CBC story, it was her interpretation of what she'd been hearing in the newsroom and on the street. Biased ? Perhaps, but at least from up here, it sure looks as though Calgary is not prepared to go to the lengths that Edmonton did, and it does not appear that Calgarians are buying the same threats and spurious economics that Edmontonians bought into.

You're hilarious. Most people, even liberal types would admit the CBC is left leaning, Those who don't see that or admit it are either stupid or are in denial. Just like someone who argues that QR77 is not a right wing leaning station.

This media BS that you're trying to actually use against Nenshi will always be exposed, and it comes around and bites the billionaires even worse. The challenge the Billionaire staff and bots have is that they are too thick headed to get it. Keep going. The Jujitsu masters was having fun!

I keep hearing mixed signals about this election. Nenshi is still the odds on favorite I would say, I also hear a lot more about trying to unset him.

The poll at SRC has some interesting numbers. He's in the lead but a fair bit of undecided voters.
http://calgary.skyrisecities.com/forum/t...-election-2017.27686/page-3#post-1261498
Nenshi 10
Chabot 0
Smith 6
Undecided 6
I wonder how close this is to other circles?

Bullshit...the CBC has always had an agenda in their reporting. Just like CNN and Fox have theirs. If you can't see it, you're blind.

QR77 a right leaning station? Do you actually listen to the station? It's not even close to being right leaning especially the last four or five years.

Ummm yeah, I listen to them every day. It's right leaning. Danilelle Smith for sure, and Rob Breakenridge, somewhat middle of the road, but right leaning. Angelia Colcot (sp?) is middle of the road.

Show me the data.

Frankly, I see the debates about media similar to debates about not-for-profit for-public-good institutions like libraries and school compared to on the other hand for-profit means-to-an-end institutions like sports empire infrastructure. The not-for-profit ones are actually not biased, though agree they are more centre than the ones run by for-profit empires.

Show you the data? There are stats on how left leaning a media outlet is? The OP said that CBC was left leaning. Those that don't at least get that, are well, in one of the two categories he mentioned.

Your definition of right leaning is different than the general public's. Angela Kokott is very left leaning. She belongs on CBC or better yet back on early morning TV doing nothing but fluff pieces.

Can you articulate what you mean by right leaning?

Trump is most certainly right leaning, or do you disagree?

In media, right leaning often is linked to social conservatism as opposed to being progressive. On the fiscal side, right leaning is fiscal conservatism. Bill Smith, being supporting of massive tax handouts to big business would be far left on the fiscal scale (akin to corrupt communist implementation where a few oligarchs actually control and are able to do so by having puppet leaders in power), whereas his fear of LGBTQ would mean is far right on the social conservatism.

Can you imaging BS at a Pride Parade? LOL!

We're not talking about Trump or Smith though. As for your comments about Smith where did he say he's in favor of massive handouts to big business what does that have to do with being mayor? He's afraid of LGBTQ? That's also news to me. Are these points Nenshi is going to attack him on in the final weeks of the campaign? The left and media are probably shitting themselves over the results of that poll showing Nenshi trailing Smith.

Just did a short automated phone survey for Pantheon Research. Few questions about Nenshi's performance, does he deserve to be reelected, who I favor, and who I favor at the ward level. Hard to say who paid for it but it definitely wasn't Nenshi's team.

The Smith campaign is likely avoiding policy on purpose trying to ride an anti-Nenshi wave. Nenshi's biggest weaknesses are perceived arrogance and unwillingness to work with the business community. The arena debate hasn't helped his campaign on either front.

It is absolutely true that the only chance BS has is not based on any leadership qualities / abilities or policy. It is only if they can convince people Nenshi is the anti-Christ.

That's 100% the case indeed. If I were Smith I wouldn't get deep into policy either. Nenshi has done a good job of hanging himself with his own rope, and If you're Smith, you just need to get Chabot out of the way, and you're in a good position to take this.

Agreed, if Smith is Anti-transit, then he doesn't get my vote.
