I know there where talks, and it does not seem like there would be a large enough population for a full IKEA store but does not hurt to speculate.

There will
never be a full fledged IKEA in Moncton. It's surprising there's going to be a full fledged IKEA in Halifax!!! The only reason why there is this store in Halifax is because it is perceived as being a "regional" store for Atlantic Canada. Even then, there are metros in the US with 2M people which don't have an IKEA. Halifax is a definite outlier.........
Now, a smaller IKEA pick up and order point store in Moncton is a reasonable plausibility. We could see some action on that front in a couple of years once IKEA determines how much business at the Halifax location arises from NB, and particularly Moncton.

I'm sure it's a second location, since their store on Mapleton was purpose built. I'm surprised that Moncton is getting a second location. I'm not sure the population justifies this. If however this store is going into the old Swiss Chalet location (like everyone seems to presume), it will only be a temporary location since that entire plaza will be torn down eventually for a new hotel, likely in the next 2-3 years.
