It's the best app for transit users. Here the STM and RTM (former AMT) have their own apps but Transit is just so much simpler to use IMO.

And you can use it all around the country. It even has transit directions for cities like Gatineau which aren't on Google yet. My only irk is that the app can be a little unstable sometimes with the occasional crash.

Thanks guys, I just installed that and it is a really great app. I have about three TTC apps I can get rid of now.

Mark me down as someone who think's it's great too! Can use it for both TTC times and most commonly to get bikeshare codes for any station in the city. Super convenient.

The law allowing the REM to be built has been adopted this morning at the National Assembly.

The project is therefore fully funded and approved.

Now, CDPQ Infra can award the contracts and start the construction. Shovels will be in the ground by the end of the year.

Brossard will become a very expensive suburb.

I hope not. Go further beyond its current boundaries and you grab the best farm lands in quebec. I hope the REM will bring on a densification of Bross.

But it probably won't sigh.

There are billions in TOD planned for Brossard.

Woohoo! This will skyrocket Montreal to being the city with the 8th to the 6th longest metro system in North America, precisely doubling the Toronto Subway. Most exciting development in modern Canadian transit history.

I've noticed Montreal is the new city that likes to circle jerk itself on this forum now.

You could argue GO RER will be more impactful btw...

Perhaps, as long as continued large-scale investment isn't immediately cancelled should the liberal government lose next year's election and as long as that government also swiftly gives up on the latest hydrogen nonsense they're pedalling. But in any case, Montreal will still be able to claim a much longer metro system.

It's definitely metro, although even Vancouver calls their Skytrain "light rail" sometimes. The media often misuses that term as soon as they see some non-subway like features, especially the Montreal Gazette

I'm not from Montreal. Did I provide a reach around from Toronto?

I suppose the metro is already a form of light rail. Light rail, metro, or subway 67km of new transit is great news for Montreal.
