This high school is brand new.

And replaced one near (like, two blocks outside) the core.
It's opposite a filled-in big box store area and our second-largest mall, but the four-lane between them still hits high speeds (illegally, of course).
I wish they'd've built something nicer AND in the old location.
Holy Heart is also ugly:
But it's in the core (in the small but sparsely-built block or two that separates Rabbittown, my neighbourhood, and Georgestown). It has the province's best high school theatre program. They put on off-Broadway-level shows every year with decent teenage acting but amazing sets and costumes, and host lots of theatre-related events after-hours.
Booth that was replaced with the first high school above was much lower class and didn't really have the city's best of any particular program, but it was still A LOT of life at the far end of Merrymeeting Road that I visually miss every day during the school year. All those kids are just gone. I might see a dozen or two people walking around that corner as I go through today, whereas before it could be much more.
Suburban shift sucks.
