My solution to the whole Stapleton/KKK issue is to erect a statue of actress Gene Stapleton somewhere public in Stapleton. A neighborhood named for an actress... Done!

Maybe if we had a developer with a solid resume of pulling things together, along with a realistic rendering, and a path forward, then I might be excited. However, I just can't take this proposal seriously.

"Wednesday morning, our news partners at the Denver Business Journal were told by Andrea Burns with the City of Denver Community Planning and Development Office that: "The developer withdrew the project a few months ago. There's no project in progress at this point." The city's building permit office told 9NEWS the builder withdrew plans for the project in February. We were told the developer has had multiple proposals and this one may or may not have been withdrawn."

This makes me think that it's is still happening. 9news mentions that it was withdrawn in February which we all know. This tower was a new rendering though and they had updated their website just recently. I think their is a lot of mis communication going around and a lot of wrong information.

Agreed. The website appears to be recently launched and the renderings are certainly new.

No idea if it will actually ever be built, but I don't think its dead at this point by any means.

I tend to agree with you guys although a case in point is the Four Seasons which went from an original 65 stories to 50 then settled at 45 so yes re-designs happen. I hope this one stays tall with a great design which is sorely needed in downtown Denver although 1144 15th St has made for hope as well as the Four Seasons before it.

I'd take a few more like 1144 15th to balance out the brownish colors that dominate the skyline. Brown is the color of 70's oil/cow town Denver, glass is 21st century tech hub Denver.

I agree to with you BG918-something needs to be done to get those bland brownish colors out-that 24 story res tower thats underconstruction just west of Union Station looks to have some glassyness in it and I believe its a trend that will take over...

Perhaps it's because the developer is just trying to gin up buzz for this site so they can sell it for a quick buck? It's obvious at this point these proposals are a joke, and not worth taking seriously. So, the next logical assumption is that this is a game to try to generate buzz for the property location.

Eh, I'm glad we have those Colotecture buildings but there's still a few decades left for development. Besides those cows and their cowboys still reflect the best of Colorado and will be back in Denver Someday Soon

A few hours after 9 News corrected their story.... it's a proposal again! (according to CBS4)

Note the city has not received any official proposal plan......

Okay, so this is super confusing then. ugh

I work for a local company and we were sent the updated website/design/promotional material last week( website itself has been active since Feb but only updated in early September) and notes sent to us that said the groundbreaking was happening next fall.

Crown just went to Cityscape on September 10th in Dubai to present this new tower




I reached out to Davis Patnership regarding the release last week on the day we received it but we didn't hear anything back from them so this is all confusing.

Okay so we just posted 650 17th on DenverInfill but we know as much as everybody else. Just posting it for project tracking, etc. We did receive the official press release from the developer and got the go ahead to post from them directly. We'll see what happens.
