Anyone think there is potential for Vancouver to become Amazon's 2nd headquarters?
They're looking for a North American city that has a population of more than 1 million people, a “stable and business-friendly environment”, have “urban or suburban locations with the potential to attract and retain strong technical talent,” and “communities that think big and creatively when considering locations and real estate options.”
We've also got the same time zone, close proximity to Seattle, less restrictive immigration policies, relatively cheap talent, strong post secondary network, etc. Plus it would fit in nicely with the Cascadia Innovation Corridor idea.
However with current municipal policies I don't think Amazon would be able to assemble and develop a site of around 8 million sqft of office space like they want?
