Tower 1 is on its 3rd floor. It should start rising fast once podium completes.

The 2nd tower excavation is almost completed. Should start construction in a month or so. It'll be nice to see both going up side-by-side.

Second crane went up this past weekend, so both towers are not officially under construction. They will transform the area significantly - in a good way!

God these Metrotown FSR caps are ridiculous - resulting in all the Beresford towers to have skinny L-shaped podiums, and a very large % of each site consumed by a suburban driveway and drop-off area.

I think this is why the retail has been disappointing so far. The L-shaped podiums all have shallow retail units that aren't good for food establishments or bars.

They seem to be changing that policy and adopting a different tack if the proposed Sun Towers chunky podium a couple of blocks over is anything to go by.

Part of it may also be driven by the demand (or lack thereof) for retail/commercial and office space on that stretch south of Beresford.

Yep, this one has been rising quickly. Glass should start going up soon and I am hoping for now ugly-ass spandrel. Time will tell. Also the second tower is now above the ground. Will make for a nice upgrade in the area.

Maybe it's just me, but I had not realized that this tower will have gold-tinted glass!

First row of glass is going up and it looks FANTASTIC! Coupled with black spandrel, the frigging golden glass will make these two towers very interesting! And let's nor forget about that huge screen!!

Yeah, it's just you.

The question is how the patterning will look since it's not all covered in gold mirrored glass.

The former GVRD towers on Kingsway also provide another gold influence nearby.

Haha, I have to say that it really caught me by surprise and it looks great. Now I am really looking forward to this tower going up.

I also love the gold-tinted office tower you mention. It looks fantastic, shining in the morning light when I drive to work. We need more tinted glass and color in this town. Parq Vancouver was a great addition.
