Based on the Regina experience, I really hope the city doesn't let them start demolishing anything without a clear plan in place. Has there been any further updates on the Regis and the parkade?

can we officialy declare this project dead

i havent seen any updates on social media or anything related to this project

does the sales billboard still sit at 55 percent

everything about this project smells funky now.. how do sales not climb by even 5 percent in over a year..

this is thing was pie in the sky and they closed down the st regis for no reason.. what a joke as if they cleared out the st regis and prepared it for demolishin and still havent tore it down after almost 2 months.

nothing ever goes according to thier time lines.. all i hear is excuses an at this rate even if st regis is tore down and the project begins excavation i dont forsee any action happening on the site for over 10 years.. well have a empty pit in the ground.. maybe well be able to fill it with water add a few waterslides and have ourselves a nice downtown waterpark

They are apparently hoping that demonstrating work happening at St Regis will show they are real and inspire sales. Will package it as a single project.

ya i thought id go ghost for a bit and appear when this project finally got off the ground just to say "i told you so"

but unless we can extend life expectancy to 300 years i wont be able to live to say that.. so i thought id come out of hiding and admit that i was wrong.. all that time i spent defending and promoting this project was due to delusional yet overly optimistic thinking.

overall things seem really slow right now in winnipeg.. there hasnt been any new exiting news or annoucnments in the last little while.. we stalled in growth boys.. lets hope 300 main and true north square are enough to keep us happy for the next 5 years cuz i see no other major projects on the horizon.. maybe ive been bit by the winnipeg pessimistic bug but ya this thread has over stayed its welcome and prolly deserves closing..

if you sort through the facts and this developers history even the most optimistic person has to accept what it is... this thing aint happenin

I've heard they missed targets and some buyers have pulled out. Doubt they are even at 50% now.

If buyers pull out, they definitely would lose their deposit, which is a significant amount of money. I don't see many people doing that. The only news I've heard was back in August when they sent me an email with their new time-line. They said demolition would be within 30-45 days. Today is 45 exactly days. The only thing I've seen on social media is they decided to award cash prizes for the artwork. Otherwise, nothing.

I will give you this, if you bought a unit when they first went on sale and your projected completion time remains on target that is likely to be a pretty extreme pre-construction discount.

Take this with a grain of salt, and I have no involvement in this project...but I have seen a drawing related to civil/infrastructure of the surrounding roads/alleys/sidewalks/parkade that has been worked on recently and was last updated, wait for it...LAST WEEK. Said drawing also shows the main floor floorplan.

At least something is happening, albeit slowly. Don't ask for more info, that's all I know!

The main floor of Sky City, or just the parkade? I don't think anyone has any major doubts about the parkade happening even if Sky City doesn't.
