The design of the north side of the building looks subpar in the new rendering compared to previous renderings. That's all. And the new design borrows elements from previous Claridge projects which some would call lazy.

I guess everyone is worried that the new "tallest" will resemble a forgettable Miami high-rise that was built in the 90's. When/if I relocate back to Ottawa, I am not going to live in any line of sight of it anyways, in the event it's ho-hum by modern standards.

I am really sad of the final renders of the project.
It's a huge step back in term of architecture.

It's unfortunate there are no consequences for rendering fraud.
Not the first time Claridge has pulled a switcheroo...

Price list updated

http://www.claridgeicon.com/uploads/icon-availability.pdf

36% units sold. They sold about 5 units in a month. If they continue at this rate they could reach 50 percent or more next year.

No thanks

Thanks but no thanks. I've seen too many poor redesign of Claridge to ever consider buying from them.

It's unfortunate as they have redeveloped some really prime pieces of land in Ottawa including Lebreton, Claridge Plaza 1-10, and now this spot. Hopefully, this project will be above their average for build quality and materials.....though I remember saying the same thing for CP 3 and 4 :-(

The Dow's Lake skyline is heating up. In a decade or so I think the view from the lake will be 'iconic'. We'll see if anything else gets built...

At the rate it's going, don't hold your breath.
Toronto and Montreal are booming, Ottawa not so much.
Just look at Toronto's Building Completions Timeline

I can't speak for their condos quality and construction workmanship but as a homeowner who have bought 3 new builds from 3 different builders in the past decade (and having done extensive research in all aspects of the process), I have generally stayed away from this particular builder and I am certainly not alone in this decision, having witnessed first and second-hand other folks, in real-life and on message boards and forums doing the same.

Will we hate it...maybe...will be happy and hopeful because it's tall...maybe...if nothing else, it will be one of several projects that ushers in a new era in highrise construction, where 22 and 27 floors won't be the max heights allowed anymore...

We will hate it. Classic Crapridge bait & switch, it will be no different. But yes, at least it is tall.
