Classy. Looks like she was built in the 1920s.

If there's a more perfect candidate for a freeway capping park, I have yet to see one.

That's pretty elegant. This deco revival towers often look bad up close but this looks alright.

Reminds me of the Carew Tower (which itself was a model/test run for the Empire State Building):

You're not the only one with that sentiment.

Yeah, but I think capping I-95 may be better now, especially as they reinvent Penn's Landing. I believe they've started renovations on that area already.

Yep. They started taking the scissor ramps down. The plan I heard was to get those removed and put in a park. Actual 95 Capping will be in the engineering phase for at least a year with construction beginning in 2019.

To me, the VSE looks like it would be a much easier, more stage-able project that would have a very significant impact in a much shorter time frame.

Honestly, both are called for. Money, as always, is the deciding factor.

If it were me, I'd allocate the next available funds -- after the Penns Landing allocation -- to capping I-95 up to Market and on the other side up to Dock. then focus additional funds on I-676 capping before further caps on I-95. The entire area from 19th Street back to the Tower, being a priority.

This building is pretty much done, isn't it?
It honestly turned out to be spectacular. Hopefully the developer/architect continue in this city.

Since they just finished installing the exterior panels and the last of the windows I'm guessing the apartments will be opening early next year.

I agree that it would be great to see more carefully designed buildings, of any style. Not just the usual 'PMC' stuff we see.

I know a lot of people want to see more contemporary architecture in Philly, but I'd be content for more skyscrapers like this. Even like 30 Park Place or 220 Central Park South in NY. I think it's cool that old skyscraper styles are coming back.

This one is close to completion. They're putting the finishing touches on.
