There's no local vernacular to support the design of 320 Granville. It's just another place-less trend that could be plopped anywhere. Disappointing.

^ It certainly would have made for an interesting addition to the skyline, but it somehow comes across as trying a little too hard.

That would have been cool. Unlike anything Toronto's ever done before. Does seem more fantasy than reality though.

I don't get all the hate for 320 Granville. It's not incredible but it's certainly more interesting than any of the anonymous green glass condos that blanket Vancouver like grass.

I don't hate the design 320 Granville. It's just not that good. I hate it's height given its location. I agree it's a less common style but, why is that so important? We should judge architecture on good or bad and not on which architectural style is more interesting.

Oops thinking of the wrong tower. Granville is not Toronto

I don't hate 320 Granville either. The designer just didn't know when to stop designing. It would be so much better if they did.

I like it, I think it's pretty graceful. It looks like it was inspired by Lake Point Tower which is a fine source to draw inspiration from.

The tower itself has remarkably small floor plates, roughly the size of the town hall room at city hall (where UDP meetings are held). Also, as an experimental idea, the team is toying with the possibility of channeling the heat from the cladding to help power the operations.

Martin I think it looks ok they have already started to demolish the old shopping center where they are building this, its in a great location with the gare Ahuntsic station around the corner. Also the Deux-Montagnes line is three blocks away. I was going to Costco yesterday and noticed the sign with photo on it.

It's a local firm by the name of Birmingham & Wood. I wonder how hot the poured metal shingles will get in the sun.
