^ they have lots of receivers - what they need is some offensive and defensive linemen to protect Reilly and pressure the quarterback

From the paper this morning, Willis and Sewell still out apparently, but:

LG Simeon Rottier, DT Euclud Cummings, DE Phillip Hunt, LB Blair Smith and safety Neil King are all returning from the six-game injured list, while DT Da'Quan Bowers is back after a stint on the one-game injured list.

Tons of people in town. I spoke with hotels and many are near full up with NWT, YT, BC, Sask, Montana, etc.

The main card fight has been cancelled (Ray Borg has a viral infection) and they are offering refunds, so it would be interesting to see what the attendance will be like.

Why BS? What makes you think the UFC would sabotage this event by refusing medical clearance for their headliner?

That doesn't make any sense, why make a weak card even weaker?

Seems like a lot of cancellations with UFC over the past years - whether it is UFC or the fighter themselves resulting in the cancelation - I just find it suspicious hence the comment.

Wow....I was not impressed with the card before the cancellation lol.

Lots of friends are going still. Im going to be watching it from the comforts of my sofa. I have a private bathroom 4 feet away. And a private bar lol. How can this be beat!

Im really interested in how the UFC will showcase Edmonchuk on T.V.

Read Terry Jones's column about UFC and the debacle in Calgary a few years ago when a number of fights were cancelled. Whatever the reasons are whether medical or other - it seems to be a common occurrence and for people paying hundreds of dollars for a ticket disappointment

Given that the sport involves pummeling your opponents until they are hamburger - well, no shit they'll have medical issues.

Do you have what it takes to fill these big fuzzy shoes?
'You have to have a smile on your face, despite the fact that nobody can even see your actual face'

The Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) is seeking a performer to step into the oversized shoes of Hunter, the Oilers' lynx mascot unveiled last year. And according to its Aug. 16 ad, the OEG is not looking for just anybody to step up and raise the roof.

Candidates are asked to have a post-secondary degree, or to be enrolled in a post-secondary program, and have a "keen knowledge of hockey." Also required is a "minimum of three years' experience at the collegiate, minor or professional-league level."

You would be expected to be Hunter in the suit for up to four hours at a time, never losing your non-verbal enthusiasm.

Core responsibilities and duties of the new full-time Hunter will include "interaction with fans, children and clients while inside the mascot suit" and the ability to "maintain and care for costume, props and signs used during in-game or community events."
Why the hell does it require a university degree to be a mascot?
