I think the café/restaurant space looks claustrophobic and closed-in.
The rooftop form is just a screen either trying to vertically heighten the ground floor unit
or trying to hide the fact there's nothing up there.
It would improve it substantially if the restaurant space were 2 floors or had a rooftop patio
(the patio is at grade behind the screen, unless it's been revised since the rezoning).
Then again, I suppose the screening looks better than Glowbal's plastic tent at Telus Garden.
