$515k is all relative. Probably not the neighbourhood he should have built them in. You don't build something for sale that is way above the market average for that neighbourhood. Development 101.

Exactly.

Why a City councilor is moonlighting as a developer is another question. Sure, he says it was an 'experiment', and had support of the community league, but the optics don't look good.

I would have to somewhat agree. While I don't personally have an issue with him developing/investing in real estate the optics could work against him.

^^^IanO, why would I want to live in something so skinny? Do i rappel up those skinny blue lines? Where are the balconies? I'm afraid if it's all transparent like that neighbours could see me changing or taking a shower. Don't developers think?!

Kudos to Councillor Knack for dabbling in the real world... the more people who know how hard it is to do good development and who realize that developers don't have printing presses in their basements where they can mint as much money as everyone wants from them the better.
