The city has released the six shortlisted designs for Hamilton's Pier 8 promenade park. The winning design will be announced in late September.

Tux Condos is back, now named 357 King St. West, 42 floors and 148.1 metres. Also, it's rental now.

Reminds me of the Habs tower a little. The more rental the better.

From the Kelowna thread, a revised proposal for a downtown waterfront hotel (now with condos). 32 stories with a restaurant on the 16th floor:

Nice little building. I like all of the wood incorporated in it. The underside of the balconies with wood is a nice touch.

I'm not sure if this has made the rounds yet.

14 Duncan Street
48 floors
515 ft
157 m

It's a little tough to tell what's going on with it but it looks promising.

That former warehouse is a bit of a PoMo disaster right now - looks like part of the plan would be to restore the facade at least to it's original state. I imagine the building is one of the first modern office conversions in the area.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this tower be the tallest tower in BC outside of metro Vancouver?

Nope... that's the original proposal from a few months ago. Here is the UT article, from May 18th:

Saskatchewan forumers never post in the Canadian constuction threads anymore but I stumbled upon this from Saskatoon construction thread this last week..

Heritage designation of the Third Avenue United Church received a nod of support from the provincial heritage review board that was convened when the designation was objected to at City Council last year. Now the matter can go back to Council for a final decision.

The objector (and former owner of the church), John Orr, has come forward with drawings of what he planned to do with the property had he held on to it:
