This is no knock against Metrotown. But wouldn't Robson or Alberni or 4th Ave have been a better fit?
Why not have both? It will be successful, guaranteed.

Considering the sheer number of people who go to Metrotown daily, I'm sure they'll do fine there.

Like most things Japanese, they have things down to a science. They'll do just fine. I know i'll be one of their patrons before too long.

Cult following (people who have shopped in their stores or know people that have) but mainstream enough for it to appeal to the masses.

I went to Metrotown today and the bus loop entrance has Muji 'opening soon' signs across the bottom half of all the doors - so I think the mainstream masses know about it now.

Not a cult-following at all, mainstream and worldwide. Canada is very late on the Muji bandwagon. Muji is a staple everywhere, even when I lived in London in the late 90's it was already extremely popular and central London had several locations.

Biggest meh in the world. The flagship here in Melbourne is reasonably busy at best. $80 for flannel pj's... meh.

Muji certainly is not a 'traditional' retailer. Besides selling a Muji tiny home, it is opening a Muji hotel in Japan.
May be the tiny home can have a market in Vancouver?

Was able to look at the new Mini So on granville the other day. Very impressed with selection. Like daiso with a smaller selection of higher-quality goods. or like a flying tiger with less whimsical-yet-useless stuff. their headphones and phone gear look high-quality.

Chevrons at Cambie & 16th and 41st & Oak sold.

Cambie & 16th is already closed, according to the story.
41st & Oak will close tomorrow.

Wow that was quick, I guess because the two are reasonably sized.

Why is Chevron not looking at selling West 4th and Burrard and Main/12th.

Any updates on Esso selling? They have quite a few sites that have not been updated to 7/11 from On the Run.

Ron.

Hadn't heard of any Esso's being sold (other than the 7-Eleven deal)

I see the dearth of gas stations in this city pretty soon. Welcome to the new age, but wait, I don't see any new electric vehicle charging stations mushrooming around to replace them.

That's why we need more malls and their prime EV charging station parking spots by the entrance !!

I think Macs/Circle K has a plan to have them outfitted into their existing Gas Station, alas they don't have a gas station presence here.

7/11 most likely has such plans to outfit their properties (Esso & pre-XON deal)

Ron.
