I get a monthly newsletter from River District and it said that Everything Wine is now open. 16,000+ sq ft, largest private liquor store in BC, cheaper than government prices and has a cold zone for beers.
I thought it was interesting to see it up and running when no one lives in that area yet and all the construction is going on. I thought they would wait till at least one of the Town Centre's was completed before opening up shop.
It will continue to be better than the rest of Vancouver proper thanks to Marine being an adequate width.
with 4 new traffic lights. 2 of those should have been cul-de-sacs and only added in 2 new traffic lights. because 2 of them lead about 500m to another intersecting which is intersection #3 on Marine Way. talk about good planning.

LOL...as a retired transportation planner I noticed the same potential traffic light issue, VancouveroftheFuture....but I will reserve my comments for the next five years as road use increase dramatically after all those new housing/commercial units come on stream!
1TC interior finishing for tower + midrise is ongoing, along with window install for 3TC. Some great progress, over past few weeks. https://twitter.com/wesgroup
that railway track that runs there, is it currently used for something?
A short train pulling only 2-3 cars makes the trip in out something like twice a week (not sure but it's not very often). Not sure where it heads though.
I drove past Marine Way & Boundary the other day and was surprised how tall the building on that corner is.
Again, it's just a matter of relative perspective. Put that building in Metrotown or Brentwood and it would be a teeny structure. Place the same building in Mount Pleasant/Commercial/Maple Ridge and it would be a behemoth.

ah ok thanks, I've always wondered cause I've never seen any trains down there
I have not parked on that side of the city to sleep for the night in almost five years but this weekend I thought of going back and holy CRAP the area grew up fast. My old parking spots were now either well lit or now had developments on them. I still remember not even a decade ago this was still largely undeveloped.
