@krownroyale

Too late. Rick Warren has already purchased over 150 properties within a mile radius under 6-7 different corporations.

Google on "Rick Warren Atlanta real estate" and you'll get the drift. For one thing the mayor doesn't care for him very much.

Standing where the 1105 West Peachtree office tower would be located looking north up West Peachtree. Northside Medical, Icon Midtown, Atlantic House, and Amli Arts Center are all visible.

AMLI's parking deck screening is coming along. The "retail" (albeit a little too shallow for decent retail) along Spring St would be an awesome gallery/studio space for SCAD as well as an opportunity for a sizeable sculptural element in the opening to the right in the corner of the deck.

That is a great picture... with the exception of the ever-present utility pole that seem to spoil so many nice streetscape views around town. Hopefully they will all be underground one day and street trees will take their place.
Still a good picture anyway, especially since it has construction activity in view.

As retail sprouts up along W Peachtree north of 10th st (McCrays Tavern in Atlantic House looks pleasant and open to the street, btw), traffic calming will become CRITICAL. The street is wide enough and the streetlights are timed to get a good volume of cars out of the neighborhood at VERY fast speeds. Walking this currently as a pedestrian/biker with a baby/toddler/disability/group/dog/groceries/walker/etc can feel downright dangerous.

So, the renderings appear to depict the world congress center hotel that will replace the dome. The model, however, appears to be some dated proposal with the same building. What is the context of these pictures?

When you post pics can you give us some context or a title, please? I know you do sometimes.

Especially when it comes to things like that model. Some people who don't visit the site regularly would have no clue what you're posting. Hell, some of the regulars wouldn't....

That hotel is a great looking building, btw

Seconded. I don't understand the point of going to the trouble of posting a pic, but then playing some sort of guessing game where people like me have to wait until someone else identifies it.

I appreciate the pictures that George strait posts, so I'm not going to complain. Complaining is toxic and overrated- I see too much of it on here.

GWCC Hotel - Another View

If the scale of this model is correct, this thing is going to be massive.

The renderings alone look fairly sizable. Is the surface around the hotel the location of the new tailgate spots for MBS?

No - it looks like they used a model they prepared for the MMPT project and just adapted it for the new convention center hotel.
