Thanks Delts. Maybe the powers that be are paying attention to our little thread here. I've got to say however, on the office development; I'll believe it when I see it.

It's serious enough to have a very negative impact on the businesses in the area and needs to be delt with. The police need to run the streets in that area, not the other way around before it takes a decade or more just for the neighborhood to recover from a bad reputation and brings the surrounding area down further.

Lol. I can't take anything seriously if it says that crime is a problem in SLC. What a joke.

This seems to be affecting you a little more than it should here... maybe you could stop finding his stories interesting and not click on them?

Devoting time to journalism costs money... Running servers costs money... Promoting your website costs money. If you don't want to read his (fantastic) website, then don't read it. But don't be a prick about it.

This looks exciting. I didn't even know I wanted this. Hopefully this will catalyze the redevelopment of Salt Lake Central and the surrounding area.

This would be a great addition. I like it, but I'd love to see a taller structure there. I'm normally not the type to push for taller but I really hope they do in the "Station Center" area. Not downtown heights, but maybe 8-19 story buildings.

Just one question though. When Charlie Luke says "affordable housing," is he talking about income restricted housing?

Thank you Asies1981 for all the information concerning Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas. You provide us with many interesting development stories I can find in one place that I wouldn't fine anywhere else. I appreciate the work you do with Building Salt Lake!

So shouldn't he/she just simply use a third party ad website to place ads on his website like everybody else instead of basically begging for money with a annoying monthly membership pop up that comes up five seconds after visiting his site every single time. Or at the very least if he's going to ask for us to join don't use a annoying pop up that covers everything up and just place a banner off to the side or something.
Yes it's a great website that I enjoy reading ( as long as it's not about a pointless three story townhouse ) but I hate aggressive pop ups.

Salt Lake has a crime problem. It's easy to sweep it under the rug but it does exist. And it's not just at the Rio Grande, either. It's throughout the whole city. Salt Lake had more murders last year, per 100,000 people, than bigger cities like New York.

There needs to be a concerted effort to address the crime throughout the entirety of the city - though, I will say Rio Grande continues to be a problem. Thing is, it's been a problem for 20-plus years and the only answer anyone has is to just move that problem somewhere else.

That's not going to work.

It's a major issue that needs to be addressed but it seems the only action people are wanting to take is to relocate the centers and ban panhandling. Well that doesn't address the actual problem - specifically drugs and, you know, the homeless issue.

Projects, I thought you left this site a while back after one of your many tantrums? Why'd you crawl back from the hole you were hiding in? And moreover, if you're so put off by the dude's website, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU CLICKING IT?

Hahaha!! So I was walking behind this lady and a guy who are here for ODRC. Some panhandler approached them. After they passed him the lady said to the guy. “Salt Lake is kind of nice but it seems like they have a lot of homeless people for a city this size.” Then the guy said “I know I’m glad this thing is moving.”

You realize that advertising make it possible for most websites to even exist right? I read that site all the time and have never had anything that seems overwhelming. I actually brows the web 95% of the time on my phone though... seems like mobile versions of sites handle ads beter.

I wish skyscraper forums had a mobile version. I swear this forum is the most outdated shit that I visite on a regular basis. Most web traffic comes from mobile now days. They would probably get more traffic if the would update. It’s kind of annoying trying to type on here from a mobile device.... side rant.
