I've always found Montreal kind of looks like a Latin American city in those stretches.

the A-40 (the metropolitan) with a length of 21 kilometers, is the 2nd oldest highway in the province. 1959.

the Lafontaine Tunnel will be refurbished , 2019-2022.

then after, they will start to think about the Met.

the concrete may look terrible, but the pavement is not so bad.

Yea, the roadways aren't too cracked up on the A40, there's just your standard bit of busy traffic since it serves as a Trans-Canadian freeway.

So far my impression has been that the average quality in downtown Montreal is better and more varied than spandrelly downtown Vancouver/Toronto. What examples are there of crappy new-builds in downtown Montreal?

They're serious about the resort, but the design will probably be bogged down. It's 50 floors, and Victorians abhor tall buildings.

I was going to ask the same thing. Looks like 3 towers at about 20 floors max, not 4 up to 50 floors. I'd be pissed if I owned one of those homes right next to it.

Even if it was 50 floors, a building that high wouldn't get built in Victoria.

Richmond - Bridgeport Village

It will impress a lot of tourists entering Vancouver by Skytrain as this is the first urban area they pass, immediately out of Sea Island.
The Richmond Night Market is slated to close this year.
