my gf briefly worked for an eco company downtown (right near MTSC) and one of her first questions was "do you have staff parking". Following an awkward pause, her boss said "being an eco company, we prefer not to have parking". lol

Oh, I hope not.

Interesting and impressive, hopefully. But exciting is never good in a high-rise construction project.

It's not? When did we all change our minds about that? Can I see the results of this rather surprising vote?

I figure Tower 1 must be at the halfway point in terms of height?

Where do the figures for building heights come from in all of our threads? I'm not doubting them or anything like that, but are they estimated heights or are they the heights as quoted by the developer(s)?

Tower 1 (scotiabank): 77.8 metres (17 floors)
Tower 2 :86.9 metres (24 floors)
Tower 3 (Sutton Place) unknown

The heights I gave for 300 Main are off the drawings, and for TNS directly from the Project Manager.

Thanks! It must be interesting to see those drawings, etc. before I assume most people have even heard rumours of a potential project.

Not sure anyone posted this but earlier last week, Paddock drilling was doing their geotech work on the Sutton Site. Looks like that part of the project is coming closer to fruition.

Two shots of the crane lifting jig working on Sunday

The iron workers were still on the crane around 8pm Sunday night. This was the taller (north) crane. I could not see any work being done on the short (south) one from my location at City Place on Sunday

Looks like the north crane is now braced against the building. Was wondering how high they could go with just the stand alone crane.

I find the layout of the residential building a bit odd. Elevator core seems to take over most of the building width. Will be a hallway along the south end, facing into the plaza. Then it will turn and go around the corner of the elevator core. So maybe 8 suites per floor, 4 on each side of the elevator. With an open area at the elevators facing into the plaza.

Might it be four units per floor? Two east of the core and two west of the core with the southern units splitting the space on each four overlooking the courtyard? You could then fit each unit between the support pillars on the floor plates. With 24 floors that would be 92-96 units depending on what is done with ground level. You might even lose a couple more units for common spaces.

^ That actually sounds more reasonable than approx. 200 units. Maybe somebody could measure it out and see what the floor size is.

Edit: I measured approx. 3000' square feet on the west side of the elevator core, west of the second concrete wall (which I assume would be the wall between the hallway and suites). So could be 4 units at about 600-700 sq. ft each. That would be 8 per floor. I guess 200 units on a 24 storey tower is fairly typical.

Anyone know if the cranes will be at their full height once they are increased in the coming days? Or will they be heightened once more a few months down the road?
