When the construction crane on the south side was taken down and they got around to installing the glass panes they still look the way they did then; a noticeably different shade of blue grey. Don't think that dust is the issue. Perhaps protective plastic covering as someone already mentioned??

Most likely protective plastic on the inside of the windows - very common in the construction industry.

I think it was actually just dust mixed with the right angle of sun. They have been cleaning the windows all week, so it makes sense.

Speaking of dust.. I would imagine in Dubai, you're cleaning the glass on the Burj a lot more regularly than you are in most other places?

Dust isn't bad as long as it stays dry, it's when it rains on a dusty window that you start to see the dust, otherwise it doesn't really stick. There are types of glass coatings that are supposed to resist dust and dirt as well.

If it was interior film though, it would be removed one floor at a time and not in a section like this over multiple floors.

As suspected, lights went on for the Brookfield crown today just before the fireworks started, and they turned off part way through the fireworks. Extremely underwhelming.

The photo in this tweet from July 1st is quite clear. Would be surprised if anyone on this forum feels anything other then underwhelmed.

It is those white light housings on the left of this photo. Looks like they are every third pillar, save for the centre where an extra pillar is skipped. When you look at the photo in the Tweet from courtdoc you see this - and the same is paralleled in the photo from Urb Calgary of the inside of the crown.

Why is there such an expectation that this particular building have some amazing lighting feature at its crown?

Because it would look nice. The DP has no mention of it though.

The night renders showed the top lit up, seems like a lost opportunity to not light it up though, what's the point of making this glass enclosed space up there if nothing goes in it and nothing happens with it...

Because the crown is unattractive. Lighting makes it more acceptable.

Cause the crown is ugly AF and some night lighting would at least make it bearable. Now it just looks like someone stuck a portable on top of a very plain building.
