It would be nice, but then you're talking about a connector into a heavily residential neighbourhood south of Wheeler - expect enraged citizenry marching in the streets.......

Even if you could drive down Kendra and exit out onto Wheeler would be nice! Or connect cedar north like the pre wheeler days.

Would be nice. Would also be nice if they would either bridge over, or tunnel under the highway, and connect the 2 ends of Ryan Street like it used to be pre-Wheeler Blvd days as well.

There is now a crane on site for the new Holiday Inn & Suites under construction on Mapleton Road, just north of the TCH.

The building is going to be a pre-fab building by the looks of it. Some of the superstructure is up already.

I wonder how the movement on the other fronts attributed to this development is going. Such as the restaurants, will there still be any, the retaining wall, and the roadwork. I know physically nothing is happening but would be interesting to know if any progress is being made on paper.

Apparently a sale agreement for the Wharf Village Shops at Magnetic Hill is close. No word yet on what the prospective new owners have in mind for the site.

Also - The Magnetic Hill Zoo has opened new exhibits for Meerkats and for Flamingos in the Africa section of the zoo.

The Holiday Inn site now has more land cleared on it. I wonder if that is infrastructure work for the site or prep for the next building?

Structural steel is also now being erected.

I see work has started on the 2nd floor of the Holiday Inn, plus site work has started for storm water and bank retention.

Culverts to Be Upgrade

The Jonathan Creek Culverts under Jonathan Avenue, Bingham Drive, and Berry Mills Road are to be replaced. So Between August 14th, and September 15 People should be looking for alternate routes to get around the construction.

The work contract has been issued to Dexter Construction it seems there planing on a small one underneath Jonathan, and one large single span to go under Bingham Drive, and Berry Mills.

And the nightmare road construction season in Moncton continues. This will mean gridlock on Mountain Road!

For the people who take public transport it will actually slow most runs. So if anyone here takes public transport I suggest you leave earlier they will be delayed thanks to road construction, and road closure.

Jack Astor's verified?

Some chatter on NB Retail Talk and Share about Jack Astor's (and possibly Milestone's) coming to Moncton.

Can anyone verify?

I've seen the chatter over there. I don't get the impression that there is anything more verifiable over there than there is here on SSP. The render (previously posted here) shows two restaurants, without signage, but physically similar in appearance to Milestones and Jack Astors. Greg Turner (city councillor) hinted on the Talk & Share site that there might be two "unique" restaurants built there, but in terms of absolute confirmation, I don't think there is any.

there was Chatter about South St Burger as well.

But all the chatter seems to have come from most companies have the standard "We are looking for Franchisees, and locations If you, or someone you know please apply, or give anyone you know this information to apply."

People seem to have taken it as they are actively searching for Franchisees.

they have also relisted 173 Mapleton Between the old Used car dealer lot, and the car wash, and they have also gone ahead to renew previously held listings across the city, and have seemingly added more info in a push to get development going.
