Hopefully, along with TWELVE Centennial Park's north tower. I pass through this area every morning, and it's amazing how much has been erected around the 50 Allen Plaza site.

They definitley should have waited for the dome to be demolished. Imagine how dynamic the view would have been from the stands.

Also, they would have had their 'battery' with this new entertainment development stirring in the gulch.
The problem is the barves and their out-of-state ownership only ever cared about their bottom line, not the city or the fans. Now they can be the captain of their very own sinking ship in the middle of nowhere.

Would love if Peachtree in Midtown eventually developed like this. It really adds to the atmosphere at night and just makes the whole streetscape feel safer.
I used to live in Tokyo, and hung out Roppongi quite a bit. It would be fun to see this in Atlanta.

Agreed. I'm hoping that the Ressler development basically replaces the CNN and Centennial Park decks, and that the state and federal parties working with Forest on the MMPT project jump back on that project, now that so much is happening on Centennial Olympic Park Drive.

Guys, regarding the Braves, please get your facts straight. They had been trying for years to work with the city and Fulton county to develop the land around the stadium, but because the city leaders were greedy and everyone wanted a piece of the pie, nothing happened. The city never thought they would leave, so the Braved called their bluff and made their own deal with Cobb that worked out in the Braves favor, they now own the rights to the stadium and the land around it, vs being a tenant and having no control of the game Day experience for their fans. The move left the city with their pants down and forced the city to sell off the land to Ga State at a far lower price than what they had offered the braves to develop the land. Don't blame the Braves for this, blame greedy city officials. In the end, the big winners are the Braves and Ga State. Any shade thrown toward the Braves themselves is un called for.

Remember this?

This is it now:

Situated in the heart of a metropolis downtown, the Urban Hotel Concept is a 17 story, 325 key boutique hotel nestled within a surrounding fabric of skyscrapers and mid-rise buildings. Formally, the hotel responds to the varying scales of the surrounding area by visually breaking the podium from the guestroom tower, revealing a lower roof deck and garden. The main hotel tower is offset to the back of the site, allowing a more human scale to the street frontage. At the street, the podium levels are organized with restaurants and bars located at the edges, providing additional vitality to the urban fabric. A void in the geometry at the top of the tower provides a covered outdoor dining area and adjacent lounge deck with panoramic views of Midtown and Downtown. The hotel program includes retail, car rental, a restaurant, rooftop lounge, and 7500 square feet of meeting and banquet spaces.

That was photoshopped? Would not have even noticed if you hadn't told me.

But in all seriousness, what this area could look like in 10 years blows my mind. As a lifetime resident of the Atlanta area (40 years now) I am loving the recent growth (physically speaking as well as growth in understanding what it means to be a world class city).

I forgot to add the new West Side park. For those of you priced out of Midtown and O4W. Downtown's Westside is the new frontier. This will be the hottest up and coming area inside the Perimeter. Lots of projects are in the works...so get while the gettins good.

AMEN!!! At the end of the day, we should be glad we didn't lose the Braves to Charlotte or Orlando. We still have a professional sports team which is the ONLY team here to win it all! And wake up, the team is a couple of miles outside the city limit...if you say that the middle of nowhere...that day a lot of what you think of the city. Smh

Can people STOP quoting the same god damn pictures 3 or 4 times? Delete the photos from the quote in your post. That's one of my biggest pet peeves on this forum.

So we've got three tower proposals in one small little area of downtown. Nice.
