^^^ The floating bridge appears to be anchored to piles, which I assume are driven into the sea bed? If so, it should be fairly stable. However, the anchoring system might use bearings (rotating rod) on the piles so that it can move up and down but not horizontally. It looks like a good system.

I'm guessing HMCS Xyz won't be docked for tours in front of the museum this Canada Day.

I cant recall if they are going down further than this, it looks like they've imported a lot of structural fill, so this may be the base elevation.

Cool photo.

The floor plans in the DRC package show two levels of parking. However, the lower level has a smaller footprint than the first level. So maybe they'll still dig out the middle of the lot?

EDIT: Actually, the location of the pilings next to the crane seem to line out with the outline of the lower level of parking. Maybe they'll put in a second ring of coffer dam before going down for that level.

It didn't take long to install the floating boardwalk once they started. It might actually turn out to be a tourist attraction.

Though it's a shame they had to put the connection to it so far towards the end of Murphy's wharf. I guess they had no other choice, but it's way out there and not any kind of natural flow.

Been on the bridge twice now. It's so nice to have a waterfront route back, and it gives a new perspective for viewing the downtown. I didn't find it all that "wobbly", though both times the harbour was pretty flat. The delay on getting this open was a little frustrating, but now that it's in I say: two thumbs up

It's very spacious, there'd be no issue with, for example, two wheelchairs passing each other. SUV strollers might be another issue altogether...

They do actually have someone posted at each end of the bridge right now. They seem to be counting users, plus maybe also directing traffic?

Tested it out yesterday. It will be prime viewing for construction and its nice to actually be down at water level. I did think the ramps could have been a bit longer. I was there when it must have been close to low tide and the angle of the ramps was pretty steep. A lady in a motorised wheelchair needed help getting back up off the bridge.

Took the SeaBridge today for the first time. I'm a fan. Nice and cool on a hot day, it moved traffic pretty well, better than the old fixed bridge just past Murphy's did. The bottleneck seems to be the aprons of Cable Wharf. Narrow on either side, people traveling both directions, people standing around waiting for boat tours, deciding on menus at Murphy's, tour groups having a lecture, and tourists chilling in the shade.

I hope when this project is over they can re-purpose the bridge along the waterfront somewhere.

I wonder if the Queen's Marque developers will be pouring concrete this year?
