Is the entire building being demolished, or is anything being preserved?

I really hope they take it all down and rebuild it all with fresh new brick.. looking at it a lot of it just looks unsalvageable.. been spraypainted over so many times, parts chipping off etc..

I agree with you. But does anyone know what the actual plan is?

haven't seen any architectural plans yet. In other news looking back in the historical photos - even when this building was NEWish it still looks crappy and grimey and stained and gross.. aka, the building has never looked good.. ever.

Isn't that the area where the Bar known as the Texas Border or something like that used to be?

FYI...I have current renderings for this project. Still no building permit, so it's subject to change.
But the plan is for a 34 and 25 storey tower. Very nice glass design. The taller building facing King of course, the shorter one on King William.
Height of the tall one is 111 metres.

Title should probably be updated to reflect the building heights.

you have to find a site to upload the pics to - just go to a site like this:

https://imgur.com/upload

drag the images there - it'll load up, then give you a link - go to the link, and on the page it brings up there will be a link on the right hand side different from the link you clicked to get there - copy THAT link and then make a post here and click the "mountains" icon at the top and paste the link in as a picture reference. It you try to copy the first link it gives you, even though it will have a jpg ending reference, it will come up as broken, because that is a link to a page that hosts the image, not to the image itself.

I've secretly hated this building for years.. to me it just represented decay.. so I am ecstatic to see something finally happening to it.

Not sure where this is going but I like what I see so far. I would have done the same - demo the rear and build there. Then reno the original frontage to its 1930s glory. Do that and everyone's happy.

It's tough to post images from mobile on here. Very tedious. Easier to email the images to yourself and post them from a computer.

59 storeys. I'd say tall and slender on King and keep KW down to 6 to 9 storeys? Please be something to be proud of.
