Was up in the confluence today and I was quite impressed. You can really see all the progress in downtown quite well. The first 13 floors were nearing completion but anywhere above that was still very roughly finished. Mostly concrete. How do I upload images?

You will first have to host them on Google Photos, Imgur, something like that, and then link to the files.

On Memorial day I was down in the Tech Center and stopped by the jobsite for 5050 S. Syracuse. Right now, it is not above street level yet. But, I did notice that a different type of tower crane is in use:

The site doesn't appear to be physically tight. My guess is the builders are going with cranes with a smaller footprint.

Nice! I couldn't tell from the renderings, but is each side of the crown the same height? Or will one side be higher?

It's a little of both. Picture the recessed area in the photo CPV posted as the dividing line of two halves when it gets to the top...each half of will be angled, but opposite of each other with one half a little taller than the other, and the recessed area will carry over the top and remain flat at a shorter elevation than the two halves. If that makes sense?

Ah.. that's what I thought. Thanks for the explanation! It really makes an impact on the skyline from certain angles.

It really does, and it's a gorgeous tower. Too bad the fugly 1800 Larimer/Xcel Building couldn't have been more like it and 1401 Lawrence.

Eh, IMO this is more of statistical thing and a bit misleading.

This is more of a metro event where there has been more new construction as well as a lot of owner turnover of (especially larger) existing complexes. New owners typically seek to create value from renovation and updating of their properties. Average metro rents have drifted higher as a result of these two things. Little to do with central Denver.

Denver Water's Operations Complex Redevelopment Project is quite impressive. For anyone who's unfamiliar there was this article back in 2015.

Speaking of Denver Water I also found this recently:
Denver Water selects Black & Veatch to provide services for Gross Dam expansion
This kind of project is right in Black & Veatch's wheelhouse.

1401 Lawrence is fantastic. I mean the jenga tower thing from 2008 would have been cool, but that building in all of its glassy and girth'y glory has been a really nice addition to our skyline. I think it complements the taller sibling really nicely.

I hope it doesn't make the terrible hissing sounds my local grain elevator makes. You can hear it for a half-mile easily.

The grain elevator will be inactive, but they're installing a loudspeaker system on its roof that will generate loud hissing sounds to make for an authentic "industrial" ambiance.

That would be the Ardent Mills that chose Denver for its new HQ over Minneapolis I presume.
