Just passed this one on my daily commute, I haven't taken Vine to get to school in awhile and holy crap this building is shaping up well.
I'd say it'll easily be totally clad by early August or maybe even early July.

Sorry to say it, but I think you're right. I bet they switched from limestone to sandstone, and saved a pile of money.
Too bad, because the darker color sandstone just doesn't stand out very much, especially at the top where because of the height, the brick and the stone just sortof run together.

since when did contrasting window casings become an important aspect? I think if these read too white, it would look extremely '90s looking. once this all comes together, the subtlety will look fantastic.

On ground level and the lower floors I don't have any problem with the more subtle differences in color, but up at the top where it appears that all the major components have been installed, not including the windows, I think the difference in shading between the brick and the stonework is not great enough to be noticed from street level.
But, this is sortof splitting hairs; I think it would have been an improvement with the lighter color limestone. That is in no way saying that this isn't a very successful building. To me this is a great example of what good thoughtful architecture is, not just because its sortof classical vs modern, but the detailing is just right on the money. I'd love to see this level of care and craftsmanship in a modern design.

My friend pointed out to me that this building will look gorgeous in a few years when it has had time to weather.
This is actually my favorite building under construction right now (barring CTC). I'll pay homage to a Mormon God if they continue pumping out good looking buildings like this.

This is such a timeless design. I'm a huge fan of this. Can't even imagine how good the view will be from the upper floors of this building too.

I like the sexy glass high-rise towers going up in downtown L.A., but we could use a few more classics like this one.

there are still curtain wall panels, precast concrete, to go in, and there isn't any other practical way to move them around except the crane.
But I do wonder how the panels will get installed where the construction elevator presently is located.
This is one project that seems very content to take its time--------

^Interesting comparison. I really like this building, but that photo reinforces my belief that there should've been greater contrast between the building color and the "trim." Nit picking.

Very nice, classy building. Hard to believe that horrible, big parking lot was once here. Maybe someday Philly will get the RAMSA big-boy, taller version of this style we've seen in NYC, and now Chicago.
