Most organizations are run by a variety of people and sometimes not with clear intent. Maybe a marketing person incorrectly thought they should load the project to the website, or a senior manager said to do it but only wanted a few investors to see it and didn't realize SSP type people exist.

This was no accident, it was very intentional. I'm sure someone just got in trouble for releasing this information too early. I've heard whispers about this tower long before this rendering was posted here.

I don't think this means the project is dead(unless you consider anything surrounding Buzz to be D.O.A.). I'm guessing the cat probably got out of the bag before they were ready.

Ha. I can see it now:

'OK guys, lets go live with this on multiple websites! That doesnt mean the public can see it, does it?'

The issue is not just that the organizations have a variety of people with other sketchy side jobs (such as a payroll company based out of an optometrists office with no apparent revenue), its that they have absolutely no experience in this realm. Not in NYC. Not in Denver. Not anywhere.

At least the sketchy dudes proposing the tower at the El Jebel site in uptown have a track record.

It happens with big established companies too.

For example the project leaders might upload load something, but then get pushback from an equity partner.

The rules of who can do what PR, and when, can be pretty intricate. My company has a spreadsheet which I refer to constantly related to potential press releases, website, social media, etc. for our work.

Haahahahahahahah!!! you fools thought something cool and tall was going to get built in downtown Denver. The tech center will probably get something like that before downtown.

Reminder that there is a submitted to city for this:

Quote:
Site Address and Description
650 17th St - 2016PM0000773 - Paradise Tower

Whether or not the rendering is real is the only debate.

Honestly, my best guess is that rendering is probably closer to accurate than not, which is maybe why it was taken down so quickly. It's interesting the equity site lists the proposal at 80 stories. So, I would guess this is real, and we got an accidental sneak peak at what will be a new tallest proposal for Denver.

Or will be once they've looked into it a bit more and have an idea about how it pencils.

You are all forgetting the the rules of building in Denver. Everything (if it gets built) gets reduced in height by 40% and dulled down to box.

Also you think it will have lighting... ahahahahaha. Do you not remember when Qwest put up their nice and bright logo and everyone complained so they had to dim it down to barely on.

1144 15th Street won't even light its crown. I don't care if it's next to Four Seasons; that wouldn't be an excuse in any other city. It's frustrating to see how proposals in other cities automatically factor in illumination as a given - even relatively inconsequential low-rise office buildings. In Denver, not one of our "big three" has stepped up to the plate to set the precedent. Are we really that clueless when we see how awful our skyline compares to other cities? Why do we not care? Denver lacks a passion for expressing its civic pride through architecture.

Yeah - I'm going out on a limb to say that they didn't "mistakenly identify" Denver as the city. Their secret is safe with me, though.

Pretty damn cool if it makes it past the hurdles and slides in before the next recession.

Fantastic! Will be an incredible addition, and give the skyline a new identity. Love the design.

It would be outstanding. The location is perfect. I've actually been waiting and hoping for a new tallest to be in this lot. Hopefully it will happen!

If I see a news release FROM John Portman Assoc/Hensel Phelps that it's their project THEN the chances of financing go from nil to pretty damn good. Portman did claim to be interested in doing another project in Denver.

Has anyone heard anything about the El-Jebel site? Also I noticed Radio Shack is about to close up shop and Jimmy Johns is moving their location further down 16th... Any new details about the hotel that was supposed to be built with block 162?

I'm not gonna lie, I was really expecting to get Rickrolled when clicking on that YouTube link. I click it anyway and that tower is awesome.
