Guys have been working pretty steadily on it for the past month now, hauling debris out. Some of the old vendor staff appear to be working at it. Good to see they aren't out of work.

Current status of the 24Seven project.

Edit - not 24Seven (River Ave) as Esquire pointed out, this is on Stradbrook at Nassau.

East and north elevations from the submitted plans

I have to say this made me laugh. Is that this projects equivalent of a tower crane?

TD now closed, though the ATMs are still operating, and they haven't taken down the Green Machine signage. Really hoping that space had a continuous-operation clause in the lease so that it doesn't remain vacant...

Desart cloud signs have been removed, and the For Lease signs are down. Listing no longer on the Shindico website. Anyone have any news about what's going in?

After all the excitement of the stepladder, I don't want to hype the OVI redevelopment too hard, but they added a Cushman Wakefield 'for lease' sign on the outside of the building.

They were there for ~15 years? Or not as long, I can't remember.

All I remember is that the current building replaced the previous one that burned down... probably from "developer arson".

From today's FP:

Osborne Village fans will soon have a new place to grab a meal or drink, and somewhere else to work out.

Little Goat Food & Drink, a new restaurant and lounge boasting a “bohemian chic” look, is scheduled to open in June or July in the former Black Rabbit Bistro & Lounge space at 135 Osborne St.

Anytime Fitness, a 4,000-square-foot, 24-hour health and fitness centre, is expected to open in mid-August in the former American Apparel space at 108 Osborne St.

Their arrival will fill two high-profile vacancies in the heart of the popular and densely populated neighbourhood. That leaves one other space — the former Desart location at 117 Osborne — still vacant.

Some local media outlets have been running "everything's going to be all right" articles about Osborne Village, with the latest in today's Free Press talking about the new restaurant planned for the former Basil's. I'm just not seeing the cause for optimism myself, though. I think the commercial part of Osborne Village topped out around 2010 and has been in a state of mild decline since... it's wouldn't take much to turn things around but there is no question that momentum has been lost. Even if spaces get filled we're not seeing much in the way of major draws entering the area anymore. It's not necessarily a bad thing, though, as the rejuvenation of West Broadway and the Exchange couldn't have happened without taking at least some of OV's business.

A few interesting new faces on Osborne:

-- Beeproject Apiaries is opening something called "Beespace" in the same space as Oxford Salon (Osborne/Gertrude). Seems like a terrifying mix -- bees and hair?

-- Latinos Market, which seems to be a spin-off from Mercadido Latino, offering Spanish lessons and El Salvadoran goods, is open at Osborne and Wardlaw.

Great to hear Desart space is taken. Was hoping someone would want to keep the clouds though. They were so perfectly Osborne. Lots of cool signs in Osborne, hope they do something grand.

I don't want to knock or hate on anyone's business, as something is better than nothing, but one thing I find interesting in OV right now is that vacancy is fairly low, but there's a lot of pretty crappy places. Especially restaurants/bars. Upstairs, After Dark, etc.. come on. Surely we can do better.

Looks like Meiji Sushi's owners (River/Osborne) are trying to sell.

Interesting, I always thought it was the Meiji folks that owned the building as well.

I'm assuming the two building are in bad shape? They look pretty sweet.
