Great news. 28,000 sf makes it one of their "express" urban layout versions, only about a quarter the size of a big suburban one. About the size of a moderate sized grocery store.

After so many false starts I think that we can safely say that the Hilton Garden Inn project at Chestnut and 20th is underway. they have wrapped up the old firehouse to keep it safe.

Also I am delighted to see the progress of the river improvements outside REI

And finally another picture of Chestnut, it is really looking good with its almost complete street wall on one side and the station on the other.

Union Station and Commons Park is becoming one of my favorite areas. The influx of people has created great energy. It will be interesting to see how much pedestrian activity there is, once all of the residences start filling up.

I don't remember the Watermark getting built but apparently it was finished in 2008. Looking at the website it seems the building is about 90% vacant. No clue why. Don't seem to over priced. Rather decent actually.

edit: Just had the idea that maybe they haven't updated their web page in forever. Judging by the picture quality

Based on the Confluence webcam, they have basically just been pushing dirt around for months.

What are the chances Denver lands the Outdoor Retailer???? Just saw an article saying it might be down to us, Portland, LV, Indy or Chicago! Sure would be nice to land it! Sounded like they are using the new Western Stock Show expansion as an added benefit/lure to the deal!

I don't know but they have removed the barrier so the underwater elements are complete, you are looking at the new steps so all that is left is the concrete tiers stepping back up the hill. Being the optimist I would hope that it will really surge forwards from here.

Just saw that there is a double-wide construction trailer on the lot at 19th and Lawrence where the Paradise Living condo towers are planned. Anyone know anything about this?

So I just saw an article about 1144 15th on Facebook, and some guy from RK Mechanical posted a comment about how they're being contracted for a 74 story building downtown. Oh and he also says a 90 story building is in the works...

Just like the Glendale project is still alive... lol
Maybe they are, but just not in Denver.

If I could find it again I would put it in quotes, but he was replying to the article in order to say that 1144 15th is great for breaking into the top 5 in height, but they (RK) are already contracted on a building that will be the new tallest in Denver, and another much taller building is in process (probably just being quoted/bid).

Not doubting what you read but a little sleuthing led me to this site which shows Legacy Mechanical as the sub-contractor for 1144 15th street. RK's web page gives no indication that they're even involved with 1144 or similar projects. Sounds like somebody having a little fantasy fun.

There's still about 20-25% of the units developer owned and they are actively trying to sell them off as the leases come up

It would be even better if they were condo towers. We need about a dozen to make up for not building any since 4S and Spire..
