^this pic really emphasizes why Brookfield Place is one of my favourite skyscrapers in Canada and why the Bow is one of my least favourite

Makes me appreciate how we have a pretty good mix of building styles in Calgary.

Sorry Bow, Brookfield is my favorite tower in Calgary.

Bow for me. Both are pretty chunky. Brookfield's taper could have been a little more prominent and the clear crown takes away from the design's verticality.

Sometimes simple is better. I really like Brookfield. Not a fan of the particular shape the BOW has.

Love that shot. First saw it on Wikipedia.

I figure you took it from the Hilton?

Prefer the Bow over Brookfield, as it feels more like a prairie skyscraper somehow, the width seems appropriate for the landscape, and its sweeping curves complement the Saddledome.

I love how layered in green Vancouver's cityscape has become

The crown on Brookfield totally ties the buildings design together and the subtle taper is perfect. The last Vancouver and last Montreal pics are amazing. Two angles rarely shown.

That's correct it is on the National Capital Region's Wikipedia page. I took it from the last floor of the Hilton. I want to update it this summer, I might as well ask permission to get on the roof for a clearer shot. Not sure that will work but it cost nothing to try (it worked in the past). Anyway it will need to be updated again in a few years when the Gatineau proposals, Zibi and LeBreton flat are fully developed. Not sure the Little Italy cluster will be visible from there though.
