Certainly don't think of Somerset as NE, and the smell will certainly ensure its a poor neighborhood, but at least it's good to see market positivity.

Its not that far off. I can get across the city driving down Broad in about 15.

Will Somerset even have access to Broad?

^Good question. It might not and it would be a very slow portion of Broad up there through the residential section. Much akin to Lewvan around Donahue. The turns onto the Ring Road could be troublesome, but once on it, it would be a quick jaunt to the University. Downtown, maybe not so much, but Winnipeg to Ross to Broad isn't too bad a journey.

One of their drawings shows a theoretical connection to the Uplands/Kensington Greens, but basically no.

Doesn't that development also involve a realignment of Winnipeg Street at the Ring Road interchange?

Looks like they are finally finishing the sidewalks and landscaping on the building at Albert and 11th ave. Was a work crew on site this morning, with the front fenced off and some work going on.

If they want people to find that property desirable to live in, I would hope they would complete let alone finally landscape the street portion of the property. I am still hoping for a coffee shop/convenience store/restaurant on the main floor one day!

Any pics?

I want ALT hotels to fully develop the corner property of Albert and Sask drive. Hotel with retail/restaurant on ground floor to form a gateway on that corner. I'm done with the Empire Hotel scunge.

Driving by the other day, couldn't help but think how much of an afterthought the conversion to residential was. The windows are small and not particularly suited for residential use. Wonder how the rent compares to market rate.

Technically they are residential windows... in an office building.

The whole thing is a catastrophe and they're going to have huge vacancy. The original asking prices I've seen are significantly over market rate. Like over $1,000+ for 319 s.f. plus parking.

The BC election tomorrow is very important to this project. A majority BC Liberal government would mean this project will likely proceed as outlined in the article. Anything else would likely see delays; the NDP and Greens both oppose the Kinder Morgan twinning.

Anyone know what the plans are for Albert & Legislative Dr (entrance to the Legislative grounds)? the piles for new traffic signals are in the middle of the lanes previously used for turning from northbound Albert onto eastbound Leg Dr; and from westbound Leg Dr onto northbound Albert.

Is it going to be a 90 degree turn/ 1-lane in & 1 lane out? Or are they going to get rid of the concrete planters (which they partially rebuilt last year to enable accessibility).

(City's Road Report simply says, "Albert Street – At 20th Avenue Intersection – No Left Turns Permitted for Signal Work – Starting Wednesday May 3rd for 3 weeks" ...it's clearly a lot more than just signal work)

Brad wall has called on the SK NDP to withdraw assistance from the B.C. NDP. Apparently Notley did.

Bit of political gaming on Wall's part. The Sask NDP is far too small to make any meaningful impact.
