Mission St side

so I think this section of the brick building with its windows bricked up (on the right in the pic) was just uncovered by the demolition of the building(s?) to its east and north

I'm impressed with all the equipment and activity on the site. This is Chinese money. I wonder if they are building on a Chinese timetable:

Seeing as how the projected completion date is not until 2021, probably not on the timetable.

Maybe they'll surprise us and finish nearly 2 years early -- I really doubt it. It's two huge projects in a very crowded area of downtown

Salesforce owns it, so doubt they're crying over it.

And they bought it after the plans for the surrounding sites were well known. Maybe they got a deal on account of the soon-to-be-blocked views. But on the other hand, I can see advantages for an employer not providing his employees "to-die-for" views they might be tempted to sit and look at instead of working.

Wow, I didn't realize these were that close together.

Salesforce, Oceanwide and 181 Fremont are within 2 blocks--actually the other 2 are within a ½ block radius centered on Salesforce. It's going to be quite a place for skyscraper lovers.

Exclusive: San Francisco's second-tallest tower picks office leasing team
Jan 25, 2017, 6:00am PST
Roland Li
Reporter, San Francisco Business Times

Oceanwide Center, San Francisco's second-tallest tower when it opens in 2021, has picked its office broker: Cushman & Wakefield.

The 2.4 million-square-foot mixed-use complex, which broke ground last month, includes 1.1 million square feet of office space in its 910-foot tower facing First Street. That tower will also include 109 condos, while a shorter tower includes a hotel and condos. The tower's office floorplates will range from 26,000 to 32,000 square feet square feet . . . .
